~Great news today….for the first time in almost 2 weeks we have a cruise ship in port. I stand corrected, there were two cruise ships in today. We are happy to see activity on the beach. Colin spoke with a couple from the ship who are from Sacramento and they say they feel safe and that crime does happen everywhere and that a few ‘incidents’ are not reason enough to cancel port calls to Mazatlan. Our beach vendors are working the playa trying to make a few sales. Buena suerte!

Lots of fishing vessels out today. As you can see our weather is still so so!
~Our mouse hunting days are over…no other sightings, sniffs or nibbles! Just the one catch!
~However our neighbors have had a second tlacuache critter in the basement of their 5th wheel. Now that it is gone they are doing some serious renovations!
~Do you remember the cruise ship tourist who fell in a hole in the sidewalk in early December? His proper name is Gary Reming and he finally got out of hospital just a few weeks ago. He had several operations and is now getting around in a wheelchair. Thanks for the update Rena!
~Then there is the fellow from Penticton, the one who was shot in the knee on January 16th here in Mazatlan, he is back in Canada and had another surgery just four days ago.
~Remember the concert on January 8th here in the Isla by the Dueto Soberanes? Here is a link to an article on a friend of theirs from Gusave, Dona Tere and her lovely home facing the Angela Peralta Theater here in Mazatlan.
~I am still dealing with my head cold but am being well attended to by my fur babies and wonderful hubby who is cooking, cleaning etc while I concentrate on breathing!

60F at 8:00AM!! Sunshine & fur coats to keep me warm!
~Just had another RVer check in, we are possibly expecting another 3 rigs later this week. Good for Tres Amigos. Even before these new arrivals we are only about 20% down from last season. Not bad considering the big picture!

… a cold that is. Seems like it has been going around the RV Park, first someone else in this house caught it and now me. What are the odds of only one half of a couple catching it?

I snapped a photo of this poster the other day...I quite like it!
At least we only caught the one mouse…seems like it was a loner.

Carmeh the mouse sniffer gets her romaine ( she just loves the hard ribs ) as her reward.

We have had a few heavily overcast days here so events have moved inside.

Lots of napping...

Isn't Caeli cute with her paw curled up?

Then some music..

...more napping...

A great sunset, perhaps the promise of better weather to come.

LIghts out and early to bed!

Yesterday was an overcast day so we spent a good deal of the day indoors as the wind made it a wee bit cool. About mid day Carmeh started her sniffer dog behavior.

We pulled out the drawer & Carmeh was convinced the mouse was under the dash! After all if a daschund doesn't know then who does?
I mentioned to Colin that I bet we have a mouse around here. Sure enough during dinner last night I spotted the mouse….he was sitting under a chair then made a beeline for the dog toys where he hid out for a bit.

Just try and find a mouse amongst all those toys!
Finally he scurried away. Both the dogs went into major sniffing mode. Colin set up 3 types of traps and some poison pellets. This morning all the inside traps, including the one under the sofa had been visited. The food was gone but no mouse. Success, the mouse was trapped on the sticky trap placed outside on the generator which is likely where it came in. As you know where there in one there are likely to be more, so the traps have been reset!

One less mouse to nibble our electrical wires...

We have decided to seriously curtail our beverage intake. The easiest way was to decrease the size of the glass.

Good idea you say!

..not really because the ice won't fit...

..what now...

Just can't quite get the ice in...

good idea Colin...

Ahh, satisfaction, well not really. It's just not worth all that effort to cut down your glass size.
