For the past few years we have used travel photos to depict each month. Well now that we have Covid babies, photos of the girls will just have to suffice.
We always have a cover photo and a back cover but you will see that one in the months to come. This cover photo was taken this past October when we still had no idea that we would be able to travel to Mexico. Taken in our own yard.
What better way celebrate January, the month that the twins were born. Top left was taken just at birth on January 4th, 2021. The other photos over the month of January. The bottom left photo was taken January 9th and the two on the lower right were taken on January 26th.

These were taken with Colin’s camera. We walked down and stood as they ran back and forth, same as last time. We changed things up on the next visit to the beach. Stay tuned for those photos. Meanwhile enjoy these.

This was taken from our RV site here at Tres Amigos. The arrow shows where we have taken the girls a few times. As you can see it is a bit of a distance. Once we walked and the other two times we drove, parked and walked in with our beach chairs. The time we walked the girls they screamed all the way back so we were going to try something different.
This is the far end that had the arrow on it. It is a wall of rocks and they can’t go anywhere. As soon as we let them go, still with leashes attached, they started running and running. They could be chasing that bird just above the beach halfway up on the left.
Back and forth. We did give them treats as they came to us but eventually they just wanted to run and run. Only three paws on the ground here.
Pure joy.

Carlie is tired but Ciela just keeps running.
This has to be the best day in their lives.
Carlie is not afraid of the waves and instinctively moves away if they are too high for her.
They did not want to stop and it took time to catch them, Carlie has become very good at evading us. We finally caught them and started to walk back and then they just yelled, screamed and howled and pulled and pulled. Rather embarrassing to walk back in front of all the restaurants with their customers were watching the show. The girls wanted their freedom. These photos were taken January 15th with my small camera. More to come using a better camera.

***Quick correction, the first photo in my last post was not the hotel but the apartment building. Apparently they are all two bedroom and very nice. The hotel is closer to Chivos.
One of the palms I planted a long while back. I think it might have been three feet tall.
Note the stem coming off the palm at the bottom to the left of the trunk.
Back in November of 2018 we were getting red fruit or ?? from a stem to the right of the trunk. They were very hard.
For the first time ever, this January we saw bees on the stem coming from the palm.
On closer inspection the bees were eating from the tiniest white flowers coming out of the open green seeds or fruit.
The bees were filling their nectar sacs. Can you see the tiny white sac about 2/3’s down the right side of this bee? There is one on the left side as well. None of the bees left until their sacs were full.
How lucky for us to see this close up. A special opportunity to see nature up close. This was a first for both of us. We no longer see many bees now and are just waiting to see what happens next. Not sure when the red fruit/seeds come into play. How fortunate we were to see the bees collecting nectar on an actual palm tree.
