Colin got back from Vancouver about dinner time Friday and brought home some fresh halibut steaks. I swear they are the very very best we have eaten. In fact I think dinner last night was the best meal I have had, even in any 5 Star restaurant!

It was still warm at 7PM, like 34.5C!! Thank goodness we got a BBQ last year. So we have potatoes wrapped in foil, an onion cut into halves also on the grill in foil, fresh zucchini, thickly cut, marinated in oil, garlic and herbs and then the piece de resistance, the halibut. I brushed the halibut with a mix of brown sugar, lemon juice, butter, garlic, soy sauce and fresh ground pepper which I had heated foe less tan a minute in the microwave. Oh and I made a fresh caesar salad. Each bite was exquisite, honestly, we exclaimed over each bite. I only hope that we will be able to recreate this meal in Mexico but using 1″ thick dorado steaks!!

Dinner was enhanced by a lovely Pinot Grigio by Cooper Moon, a new wine we have discovered. Interestingly enough the grapes come from here in Kelowna as well as Grimsby, Ontario & Truro, NS
It was the perfect meal and the perfect evening. It cooled off to about 9.7C making for a great sleep. Today Colin is off shooting a wedding and the bride is lucky to have another perfect Kelowna day. Looking forward to a family day tomorrow.

…to post or to relax or even read other blogs!!! It has been about 33 -34C each of the last 4 days which makes it tough to push and get stuff done. You just want to sit and languish.
I have really wanted to post each day and have lots to share with you but time is moving too fast. I intend to get back on track soon.
We did have the 2 official showings which were great as both people are committed to moving into our resort park. However they both have a current home to sell first. The three sets of people who came through just by seeing the For Sale sign have not been back, yet!! We are maintaining a positive attitude. However it has taken a huge amount of time in preparation each day.
Colin left at 4AM yesterday to do some photography in Vancouver, he will be back tonight but is shooting a wedding tomorrow, so the hectic pace will continue. We have great friends here who have pitched in the past few days with plant watering, dog walking and house preparation.

Colin took a photo of this little guy while on a photo shoot. He is only about 3 -4 inches but what a tail! Who knew we had such critters so far North.

Life is short. We have decided to sell where we are now and to build a new home on our lake property. Rather than wait for the market to pick up we have priced this place to sell ASAP!!
We have listed with the realty company here at Holiday Park Resort, click here for the listing. That means you Mom!! If you want to see the photos, just click on the small thumbnails and they will come up larger. For those of you with friends or family who might want to move to Kelowna please check out our MLS listing. There are even more photos to check out on this site, just click ‘more’.
We have thought about this for a few years but were waiting for the right time. Last weekend we decided to make it the right time so we have been busy working on the listing, taking photos and making sure that everything was as close to perfect as possible. Somehow we even managed to do three showings on our own, people who stopped and looked at the For Sale sign and were obviously interested. “Come on in folks!” Everyone loves our huge yard and of course the views.

See they tiny FOR SALE in red in front of my car. As you can see we aren't above using the car to get people to stop and look.
Just got a call, we have a showing tomorrow, Wednesday and another on Thursday. With all of our positive thinking and hopefully yours we should be getting an offer by Sunday evening!
Meanwhile Colin is busy designing our new home…….fun, fun and a few headaches as to the where and how!

When we decide to do something, it gets DONE!!!

We have a departure date!! Finally! I am so excited.
The plan is to leave here on Sunday, October 23, which happens to be the same date we left last year. However there will be no 629 mile days, nor any 541 mile days or even 431 mile days. This year we are going to be reasonable and keep our miles to between 300 to 400 miles per day or perhaps less.
Of course we arrive at our destination a few days later than usual but we just might stay even longer!! So far we plan to cross the US/Mexican border on November 1st. Walks on the beach will begin just a few days later.
I still have to update you on our current project but there have been a few computer glitches. Tomorrow, I promise.

We are working a big project and I had hoped to share it with you today but it isn’t quite ready. Perhaps tomorrow.
Meanwhile we continue to enjoy life here in Kelowna but I have to admit more and more thoughts of heading south to Mexico are creeping in. I find myself thinking of possible departure dates, adding not to be forgotten items to a list, even making plans & choosing novels for a book club over the winter. Fortunately we took advantage of the exchange rate in July and now have our US funds, just need to get mucho pesos.

$10.00 for this entire box of mouth watering organic apricots!! NO sprays.

Fields and fields of echinacea grow just down the road. A pretty sight.
