It will be beautiful…..

…if it ever gets completed.

We had workers Wednesday morning.

This is what things looked like at the end of the day Wednesday.

...and still looked like at the end of the day Thursday. Nothing visible was done.

We did have a meeting Thursday with Ron, our stain glass window artist. That project is coming along very nicely.

There is lots to do in every room of the house but most trades are waiting for the add a room to be completed so they have the completed space to work in.

The girls meanwhile are becoming more comfortable with the house and even relaxed enough to have a wrestling match. Carmeh seems to be totally recovered from her eye surgery and is back to normal.

Caeli, taking a nap with her 'toy' which is really just the hat off an old stuffed Santa. She carries it around with her and likes to bury it.

Yesterday, Friday, the windows for the add a room arrived, some the correct size but most not.  The day was spent moving all the posts and beams that had been put in on Wednesday in order to try and make the windows fit.  Needless to say only 50% of the room is completed.  Fortunately I have 3 fellows coming to work on the add a room tomorrow, Sunday, so hopefully the room will be ready for the stream of trades coming in starting Tuesday.

What there is of the room is perfect, much more beautiful than I had envisioned.  The forecast is for 30% chance of showers sunday evening:((

Not sure if I should share with you that dinner last night was purely liquid!!!

Que Pasa!

Well the sun is still shining and the sky hasn't fallen so all is good in my world.  On the bright side with only 2.5 months into my new online business I made $295.00 dollars yesterday.  A great payment for less than 10 minutes of online work per day.  Tomorrow will show a $10,000.00 profit on my initial input of $3000.00 for a total of $13,000.00.  All this profit stuff is what is keeping me motivated through the house issues.

I did my first ever Skype video meeting last night. Looks like I am coming out of the dark ages. Haven't used Skype for years as when we did use it in Acapulco the quality was so poor. Now we use Magic jack but I really did like the video aspect. Thanks Trish for getting me to use it!

I have had a computer tech guy in and out over the past few days, sometimes for hours on end.  We are making changes that way also.   We now have a new email address which should be changed here on the blog today.  Please make a note of the new address but the old one will still work for a while.

contessa549@gmail.com

These were delivered late Tuesday, it is called roof in a box!

Yesterday morning we actually had workers!!!!!!

Through the day the add a room ( sometimes called Arizona Room, Florida Room & here in Kelowna an Okanagan Room ) started to take shape. A few glitches of course, the middle opening is our front door and if you look closely you will see a darker brown patch, they had cut out a hole for the floor register right in the doorway. You really do have to be onsite to prevent these types of things.

I have to admit I have not been current with my blog reading but I am sure you understand.  I also am now challenged with Google in making a blog comment but will be working on that today in my “spare” time.  Something to do with 2 different Goggle accounts, one for Gmail and one for….well I don't even know what….maybe Blogger comments via Google.  I am not technical nor do I ever put gas in my vehicles ( Colin has to do it ).  I sure miss full serve gas stations.

The girls are no longer escaping but no happier here.  Unfortunately it looks like we will be remaining in the RV till we return from Mexico in April.  Some people are counting the days till they head south, I can't even think about it yet……way too much to do.

It is official!!

I am in full blown crisis management:

~the found kitchen sink, the one that came from Scotland ( don't they make sinks locally anymore) is broken!!!  As in cracked beyond repair.  If we are lucky we may have a sink by the end of Sept.  We plan to use a bucket in the meantime:(   Fortunately the granite people can still use the broken sink to cut the template so we should still be getting countertops next week!!

~the add a room workers didn't show till 1PM Monday and left  Tuesday after 2 hours!!  How is one suppose to build a 10' X 44' room in 2 days!!!  We do have drywall scheduled for Saturday!!  Plus Colin had to redesign their plans as it just did not work or fit the existing house roof line!!  We have hired someone extra to help the add a room company get the roof up tomorrow.  We may be delayed a week but we are still optimistic.

~had another ER dental appt today, this time it was a chipped tooth.  Methinks I have begun to grind my teeth at night.

~my business is just so busy I may have to hire someone to do Colin's business.  Yikes!

~still trying to sort out internet, servers and all that mysterious stuff, almost 50 % done.

~can you believe we were both too busy to take any photos the last few days.

~I did go shopping for a long whip but only found screws, elbows for the heat ducts and duct tape and pliers.  They were sold out of whips!!!!

~on the bright side the service fellow came for the fridge and it no longer beeps.  The entire body was torqued.  Way too technical these days.

Plus I already have more on Wednesdays to do list than there are hours in the day.

The wine is helping but not as much as it should be…….pity!!!

A new week….

…with lots more going to happen.  Not quite sure when though.  It is now 111:00AM and my  8:30AM work crew still isn't here:))  We did have a meeting with the builder onsite re the deficiencies and Colin made a three week time line for all the trades.  Now I just have to go out and buy a long whip!!

We finally found our lost kitchen sink.  It had been delivered to another company in a different city.

We picked up the sink Friday and drove it out to the granite company where Colin reviewed our counter bar top. We met with Goyo, a Mexican from Jalisco so we got to practice our Spanish. He has only been here four years but he sure knows his stuff.

...very detailed work to be done.

The deck was built in only 2.5 days and looks great.

Now if only my add a room guys would get here.  I'm off to buy that whip………….

The que pasa's in our life….

It  has been a hectic week but things are slowing down a bit.  I even had 20 minutes off yesterday to sit and read a book!  No house stuff or my personal business stuff…..just 20 minutes of pleasure.  Yes of course my desk is piled to overflowing  with Colin's business stuff, but I believe I should be able to even get that caught up in the week ahead.

Despite putting up the fence Caeli continues to escape.  Last time someone brought her back in a golf cart.  She would be so easy to steal as she goes to everyone as opposed to Carmeh who would growl at you.  So Colin got some large pieces of wood and stapled the fencing to that…..so far she has not escaped but she keeps looks for a way out and uses her nose to push and prod.

Things are moving along in the house, there really is tons to still get done.  I find it hard to say no to everyone who wants a tour, the house is full of construction materials and really not safe for tours as of yet.  The flooring is not in, nor lights nor countertops, plus, plus, plus.  I can hardly wait for completion but it very well may be next spring.  Everything takes time.

The fridge was only plugged in for a few hours when it started to beep.  So we called Modulux ( house builder ), he directed us to call Coast Appliances where we bought all the appliances and they referred us to Domtech, a service company!  It was only plugged in a few hours and it is taking me much longer to find someone to fix it!  Big sigh!  I certainly hope that this is not what is in store for me over the weeks to come.

Pat & Gord kindly had us over for what turned out to be a gourmet meal last night.  I think I truly relaxed for the first time in a long while.

Pat did a fabulous job in her new RV kitchen which really is quite large. Their RV is lovely and perfect for entertaining.

Once it cooled off we had our dinner out on the patio. Thanks Pat & Gord for creating such a wonderful evening for us. We both think it was the best meal we have had in over a year. Your are hired!!

Here a just a few more photos that Colin took of the house delivery.
