It has been nonstop the past few days, in fact I am stopped in my tracks today resting up. Tomorrow is moving day and I need to be able to move!! I was impressed, the movers called this morning, a holiday, to confirm 9AM tomorrow. He says that at the price of gas they now always confirm the day prior.
Besides last minute cleaning Colin has been sneaking off for a few hours to do some photo shoots! Money is a good thing:))

I snapped this a few days ago when the girls were basking on the dash in the sun. They are getting more use to the new place, we have 2 of their favorite blankets there, 2 dog beds and a ton of toys all to help them get used to it.
For those who have followed Chris on his blog, Living and Boondocking in Mexico, he is back up and running. On another note it seems that there is an overall decrease in airlines flying into Mazatlan this winter. It is of concern to both Canadians and Americans. Here in Canada many are calling and also asking their friends to call WestJet Airlines asking for more flights to Mexico. Who knows it might just help.
The Mexican online newsletter Jaltemba Sol is donating 200 pesos to the Mexican chairty of your choice if you purchase your Mexican Travel Insurance ( car or RV ) through them before October 31. Sounds like a win win situation to me. This is the link to get your quote.
On another note, here is an article about how you can reduce your chances of having your email address hacked. I think we followed everything but who knows who is out there lurking.

A few days ago at the house there was a lot of banging and confusion, Carmeh hid out under the bathroom sink. As the house is so open she will need a place to hide especially if we have thunderstorms. I am thinking of putting a dog bed in there just for her.
We have an artist living here in one of the condos here in Holiday Park. Bonnie Heather who has an art blog has painted a 4' X 8' masterpiece of a winter scene in downtown Kelowna. Late last night after it got dark she had a crew bring her artwork over to our new place so Colin could take photos.

Colin getting it all set up. Good thing we have a large area.

Heather and Colin and the masterpiece, which will be featured in Kelowna's Art Walk next weekend. The piece is for sale.

This painting is made up of many smaller paintings each specially created to blend together to make the whole piece. Very remarkable and creative and well done. You can read more about it on Heather's blog and if you are in Kelowna be sure to come see it at Art Walk.
…and so ended yesterday. We had a late dinner ( 11PM ), just had to eat as we were starved. We toyed with the idea of spending the night in the new place but ended up back at the RV. Today will be a combination of more cleaning, laundry with new machines 🙂 and Colin doing some business and meeting with a few clients. Can't believe that tomorrow is move day!!

…but where have April, May, June, July and August gone??
Oh yeah, now I remember, we sold our place and created a new one!!
Our friends, Jannose & Colin came back on Friday ( on their way towards Calgary ) for a quick peek to see what has changed since they left Tuesday morning. They were suitably impressed. The couple who bought our old house showed up on our new doorstep Saturday morning ( which is just across the street from them ) and made us an offer to buy the new place!! They can't believe what we have created, so different from their place and yet so perfect.

Friday brought some change, our new king size mattress was delivered. I know we are going to love the upgrade from a queen. Rick keeps working on coverings for our propane tank and water box.

Then our new sectional was delivered....to the curb!!! For $150.00 more they would have brought it into the house!!! Thankfully our trades people helped me out, as Colin was on a photo shoot. Can you make out the windsurfer on the lake, to the right of the wall sconce? Can you see the new dust spot in my camera lens above the surfer.....grrrr????

Later Friday evening we got the sectional together and Colin did the first floor wash. I went to bed at 9PM without supper, too tired to even eat!

Saturday was even more cleaning and breaking down of cardboard in the yard. It was the very first day in almost a month that it was just us in the house. No trades! Woohoo!!! We love our house. Even the girls' seem to be adjusting to the new place. You can be sure that all this space will fill up with furniture come Tuesday.

I am so lucky Colin is willing to get down on his hands and knees to do what needs to be done. Wish I could, but I do what I can!
After all this cleaning work Colin is off on an 8 hour photo shoot Saturday late afternoon & evening, while I send a bunch of emails to the trades with my 'to do lists'!! Certainly not what they will want to see on Tuesday morning after the long holiday weekend. Sunday and Monday will see more cleaning & organizing with the official movers arriving at 9AM Tuesday.

UPDATE Colin's email address is
A solution for the curving beam was found, the wood was built up by several inches, huge bolts were put through the beam and the beam was pulled by a tight 'rope' to the other beam lakeside for several days thus delaying the inside finishing.

Randy the window covering guy came back to remeasure the windows before placing the final order.

Naive or what? Colin wanted low voltage lighting in the kitchen which required the hiring of a special electrician to install. What we thought would take a few hours turned out to be a full 14 hour install over 2 full days. We should have got a quote for the entire job instead of paying by the hour! Yikes!! The entire project does look spectacular now that it is completed.

Our friends Colin & Jannose entertained themselves thru the day, lunch out a a gold course, visiting a friend, back here to play Holiday Park gold course and then a ride on the lake. Carmeh really wanted to go for a paddle with them but we said no for safety sake.

So nice to see our kayaks being used. I wish I had the energy that these two have.

We finished the day with wine & Papa Murphys Pizza. Notice the new living room furniture;)
On Tuesday August 28th.
Jannose & Colin continued on to visit family in Oliver. We had a wonderful visit despite it being so short and us being so busy.

A strange event occurred Tuesday. We had 3 electricians in at the same time. This was the first fellow working for the house builder.

Number two is Herb who is working on the add a room side of the house for that contractor.

Then we had our low voltage guy completing the light installation. You might say our place is wired!!

We had the siding guy also completing that end of things on Wednesday.

Then we had the painter who was also there on Wednesday.

The official gas guy!! He was here all day! Our furnace is behind that door.

The water softener fellow did his thing. Now I can finally use the toilet.
…and on Wednesday, the 29th…
We had me on house arrest so no photos, the caulking guy for the add a room section, the plumber and the woodworking guy. Some start at 8AM and others only show up mid afternoon or after 5PM and stay till 10PM. Sadly our wood craftsman never finished the beam wood work Wednesday PM and is now gone till the end of the weekend. The good news is that all the sawing is done so we won't have another mess to cleanup in that area even the furniture is in.
Are you tired yet? I sure am!
