We have started to take the girls in the opposite direction ( south ) from the RV Park. The decision was based on them having been trained ( going towards the rocks ) to run and come back to us repeatedly. So Colin started taking them on his own for a few times successfully. I have gone with them the last three days. The girls are being so very good.
Colin’s old work shoes have become soaked and sand encrusted.
So he finally started wearing his waterproof Keens. They are now wet and sand encrusted. I walk barefoot.
I can’t explain just how much these two love the beach. One paw out of eight on the sand.
They run and they run.

So to date they have run and eventually turned around. Today they ran and ran and ran out of sight. Yes right around that curve to the right. We tried to catch up, I could go no further due to hip pain, Colin kept going and eventually they turned back and he caught them. They must have run at least two miles, no idea how much further – maybe three but we could not see them. Tonight they are exhausted and not moving at all.
Back to our March 14th walk.
Luna and her family were going past on their golf cart and Luna jumped put to play with the girls for a bit.

Today was the first day that they reverted back to their wild running. We were wondering if they would even turn around and back to us. I was thinking about turning back and getting someone with an ATV to help us. It eventually worked out but we were stressed and both girls were exhausted from too much activity.

Last Wednesday ( March 9th ) a very good friend in the park offered to give us a full day off from the girls so we could go to Mazatlan and do whatever we wanted to. Instead we decided to stay on the Isla and have a late lunch/early diner at El Velero. There was no one anywhere near us and it was a beautiful day but it was windy and very cool.
In addition to two margaritas for me and two lemonada natural for Colin we both enjoyed coconut shrimp. A very tasty meal but I will repeat it was very cool.
We had plans to discuss certain things but it really was not comfortable sitting there. So just over two hours later we went home. We had walked the girls, had them do their business and they should have napped ( we brought their two beds over ). Instead they visited outside, went for a walk on the beach ( wow, she was very brave to take them out ) and when it got too cool they played inside on her bed – all three of them.
They were at the door in a second once they heard our hello. Can you see Carlie giving us the evil eye?
Ciela was most eager to see us.
But once we got inside Carlie was jumping up to kiss me repeatedly. Colin came prepared with paper towels to mop up her excited pee. She hasn’t done that in a long time. Turns out the Ciela was just fine being there but Carlie was very shy. Our friend thought that Carlie had separation anxiety. We had a happy reunion and obviously we will need to start leaving them alone more often, either with someone or on their own. We had hoped to get them used to being on their own by leaving them only ten minutes at a time and then slowly extending that time. Sadly our RV neighbour hates dogs and will not tolerate even one bark without yelling at us. So we are behind in our training in that regard. However the twins have become very good at staying silent on just a command.
It was a lovely break and much appreciated.

…hopefully no more. We haven’t had ants inside to speak of, nor mice but two cockroaches 😯 in separate incidents is two more cucarachas then we needed to come face to face with 🙁
Something is very faulty with the world as we all know. Something is also defective in the weather. We had the heat on last evening and again this morning. it was only 58F/14C this morning, not what one expects in Mazatlan this time of year. Because of the cold and the wind we have stopped using our front yard and I am no longer walking the beach. However back home it was only 19F/-7C this morning. And it snowed in Vegas a few days ago. Whatever are we heading north to? Wish we could stay but I have an important medical appointment that if I miss it then I would have to wait two years to see that doctor again. Next year we will stay here for five months, hopefully.
Today I found seven more bottles of a very lovely Pinot Grigio 😉
Part of the girls morning routine is to sit and watch the beach and all the activity. Too cold out for the first few hours.
Colin surprised me with a handmade and hand painted butter dish on his last shop in Mazatlan. By the way, Sinaloa is back in the green zone with just around 200 new Covid cases per day specifically here in Mazatlan. We have laid low this entire time.
No water again for part of a recent day. Someone said it was a break between here and Mazatlan. Are these boats lined up to get into port based on the repair job?
Some worm – likely caterpillars started their new life on my plant. They were gone within 48 hours, the holes will remain.

Just another job to do before we leave. The RV is 90% washed and waxed.
Our leash tree. I am going to have to purchase new sets of collars and leashes as the ocean had ruined these including the special dog tags I had had made up.

This came into my inbox today from two different sources. It is as simple as ordering a night or two or even more in an Airbnb somewhere in the Ukraine right now. The purpose is not for you to go and stay there but to put money into the pockets of the owners so that they can buy food for their family. The monies are released to the owners within 24 hours of check-in so be sure to book a check-in date as soon as you can.
