Yesterday was a gray day

…but we still enjoyed every moment.  I missed seeing the cruise ship come in but I did catch the fishermen.

They were directly out front.  The pelicans hoped that they might soon be getting a hand out.  I could not figure out why the guy in red was sitting in the water but I believe that he was holding the net closed so the fish could not escape.

It was a large net, they had set it from a panga, just out of the photo to the right.  That is a catamaran that has been in the bay for several days now about mid shot on the right.

It is not a fast procedure, with both sides pulling bit by bit.  It takes a good deal of strength.  If you look closely you can see a few fish on the right in the net.

The fish were literally jumping up in the net as they were dragged to shore.  It was a large catch as they filled several containers with the fish.  It was obvious that they were very happy.  We have a small fish market here on the Isla where the local fishermen sell their catch which is then taken in refrigerated trucks back into Mazatlan and often the mercardo in centro.

I spent a good part of the day catching up on banking, bookkeeping and dealing with stupid stuff.  I have been having issues with the new propane company that took over from the wonderful company we have been dealing with since 2003.  For some reason I was being billed twice per week for propane deliveries and we weren’t even there.  But first I had to spend close to 45 minutes with Magic Jack to sort out why I could not use it.  Turns out that my iMac OS does not recognize Magic Jack.  I had to use Magic Jack as so many companies now have 1 888 or 887 numbers, etc. but they will not accept calls from Mexico even though we have a Mexican phone plan with unlimited calls to the US and Canada.  It is the US or Canadian company that will not accept the calls.  Some do but less and less.  So once I got Magic Jack working I was able to call the propane company and that involved at least another 45 minutes of back and forth.  Still waiting for them to get back to me as to the problem 🙁   By then I done 🙄  So it was time for wine and a book.

Not much of a sunset.  Very very humid, we have been between 75 – 85% the past few days.  Unusual weather for this time of the year.

About 15 – 20 minutes later I saw a deep pink out of the RV windows.  So glad I was able to rush out and get this photo.

A new meal for us, a teriyaki stir fry with broccoli, carrot, onion and zucchini and of course some fat juicy shrimp.  With the salad and brown rice it was perfect.

We continue to enjoy our time here, day after day, each one so different from the other.  Thank you all for taking the time to read my post and to those who take a moment to make a comment.

Loved watch the guys bring in a huge net full of fish when we were there, an amazing amount of fish

What is neat is how they ride up and down the beach in their ATV constantly looking out to see if they can spot fish. They don’t always get lucky.

Thanks for commenting Joyce, nice to hear from you. The fishermen are entertaining. The kept calling to each other and I could hear the excitement in their voices which is what led me to believe that it was a huge catch, which it was.
