Bringing in 2016
Colin and I started a new tradition yesterday. We went to a beach restaurant for a late lunch and talked about the past year. It also filled our tummies until we got our late night dinner at the Plazuela Machado.
Sadly the final sunset of 2015 was not at all dramatic.
By 9:00PM we were at the Plazuela enjoying all the lights.
The kiosk from which the band would be playing. In fact they started shortly after we arrived.
We actually did not eat in the Plazuela but at the restaurant Delirium mere steps away. We had wanted to eat at El Presidio, same as last New Years, but we were too late in making a reservation.
It was very cool and windy on the Isla when we left which dictated my attire for the evening. However it was pleasantly warm in town.

Delirium is a small intimate place but we did not feel crowded at all. We could hear the music from the kiosk around the corner.
They even have a few tables on the street. Sadly they were very short staffed in the kitchen delaying our meals but a combination of good wine, great friends and stimulating conversation helped to make the time pass.
We were in plenty of time to count in the New Year.
What a perfect way to end one year and bring in the next.
Once the clock struck midnight the place was hopping.
This was our 4th time celebrating the New Year at the Plazuela Machado and the 2nd for Juan and Chris. Certainly a tradition Colin and I will follow as long we keep coming to Mazatalan.
