More rain than than the hurricane and yes El Nino is alive
Yet again we are re setting up for the third time in just under a month. We had read of the approaching storm and in preparation once again packed up our carpet and put certain things inside and out of the rain. The rain began to fall through the night Friday and by the time we got up Saturday morning we were hooped.

We had a good accumulation of water. We used the board to go from the steps to a drier area so that only our feet got wet.

As the day progressed more rain fell. Soon a park employee same over to try and dig a drain path. That is Colin in the yellow and Micheal just dancing in the rain.
Our site is the lowest in the park and all the water simply drains to us. Plus our patio is lower than the surrounding area. A no win but very wet situation.

The rain kept falling and soon all of our cords were underwater including our electrical cord. Not long after I took this photo the sewer was totally under water and we began to wonder if the sewer would overflow. All of our rope lights were three inches under water. FYI, they are now working, amazing.

It wasn’t long before our boards floated away. At this point we were over our ankles in water depth. The rain just kept coming.

It wasn’t long before our yard was totally under water and soon the excess just flowed over the wall onto the beach.
I don’t have a photo but the tide was way out yet there were puddles of rain water on the beach. Unreal.
The good news is that we are dry once again and the sun is shining. Mazatlan is enjoying a cold front which means that the humidity is down to the 60’s and 70’s and it cools down at night. Lovely actually. Perfect conditions.
I was to post this yesterday but my server or host or whatever has been up and down. Most frustrating. Despite taking a break from posting I am still having my eye issues from time to time. Sometimes it is both eyes, not just the one. It is painful at the time but eventually passes. So I will just take it one day at a time. The rest of the gang is just fine and Carmeh continues to amaze us each day. She is now running all out on the beach and is living her life to the fullest each day.

I thought my yard got a lot of water! WOW. I know you told me, but seeing it is something else!
The new weather is great. Still decently hot during the day, but so comfortable for sleeping. I may have to add another blanket tonight!
Love the change in weather, perfect days and nights.
That’s a lot of water, hope you don’t get much more rain.
Only a little rain the other night here, and bright blue skies. The desert is being good to us so far. chilly nights but like you said great for sleeping.
Love Q but I don’t like the multitude of flies nor the wind. Nice to hear that you are happy there.
Cold nights and warm days here in San Miguel de Allende. A gorgeous day here today with a high of 24C. Your weather seems a bit unusual, this “el niño” thing is frustrating. Nice to see that your spirits are still in check with the dancing in the rain bit. Take it easy on your eyes…
Great to hear that you are enjoying your Mexican winter. Working on the eyes.
I’m glad we missed that. I hope it stays cool for a while and not humid.
It is time for you to leave San Carlos. The weather will be perfect for you once you get here.
Sorry to hear about the rain. Here in Guanajuato we had some drizzle as well. Glad to hear that it all worked out. Hopefully I will see you soon.
We are waiting for you Mike, the party doesn’t start until you arrive 🙂
