83 miles & 126 photos

Once again we eased into the day and I did yesterdays post, Colin played his guitar and the girls basked in the sun.

We had some fun on our mid morning walk.

By noon we were on I8 heading East, with the specific intention of heading South eventually.

In just over an hour we had rejoined I10 and were heading to that mountain on the right.

A horrid shot thru the windshield but that was our destination, Picacho Sate Park.

One of the first things we saw in the park, an about to bloom cacti.

Yet another great Arizona Sate Park. We have been here a few times over the years.

Happy to be here. Still a bit of wind but pleasant enough with a light jacket.

It is fall but there are things still blooming.

We managed to get over to loop C which is closed and let the girls have a good off leash walk. So much to see.

I got caught relaxing again.

I got caught relaxing again.  It was only for an hour before it was too cool to sit outside but I did finish the book I started over three weeks ago.  Usually it takes me 2 -3 days max to read something but we have been busy.

Another great day.....

Another great day…..

However I have to say that this traveling just a few hundred miles or less per day is tiring.  Whether you travel 400 miles or 200 miles it still takes the same amount of time to set up.  I’d rather travel a long day and then stay put for 2 days, then stop and go.  Colin totally agrees.

Stunning sunset tonight. It wnen on forever. The colors just kept deepening but never seemed to stop.

Getting things ready to cross our second international border.  We seem to be more tired doing these short travel days.  Thanks for stopping by for the second time today.  Tomorrow will be our last day in the US.  Off to bed early this evening……

A mere 83 miles today but we did enjoy the scenery.

A mere 83 miles today from Gila Bend to Picacho Peak but we did enjoy the scenery.

  1. A beautiful sunset picture of the RV and the cacti. Remember… Slow is smooth, smooth is fast. Take it as it comes. Be safe.

Picacho Peak is a park we stay at each winter even though we just move 50 miles or so from Tucson on the way west, it’s a great park. You may also want to try Augies in Gila Bend, more expensive than the Shell station but more comfortable.

  3. Nice area Picacho Peak, we will be stopping at Picacho Peak resort for a couple night to visit friends in a week or 2. Going to Benson Arizona staying at Valley Vista resort for a week or 2.
We don’t have much to set up so short trips don’t bother us.
Enjoy the warm weather, we are.

Love Picacho Peak park. The wind is blowing pretty good up here so I hope you have a safe travel day. Warmer today which will be nice.

  5. Not planning a hike up to the top of the peak? It’s pretty strenuous, but definitely a great view from the top.
