ART WALK ~ MAZATLAN
One of the fun things to do in Mazatlan is attend Art Walk, which happens the first Friday of of each month from November to May inclusive. Art Walk is a self guided tour of 27 artist studios and galleries located within Mazatlan’s famous Centro Historico. Some of those studios take place in homes which makes for some very interesting viewing of spectacular Mexican architecture.
Last Friday a group of us started our tour in this home on Angel Flores.
Susan Carnes does the oil painting and her husband dabbles in stained glass. He did a huge amount of work restoring their home which features her paintings and his beautiful stained glass pieces.
I particularly admired this painting.
Every corner of this home has unique displays.
I fell in love with this Traveller's Palm, a feature of their back garden. It is 2 stories high and it is only four years old. I just have to get one of these for my garden here on the Isla.
This was a display at another studio that featured mixed media. Interesting but not my taste.
John visits with a potential art instructor at Casa Etnika. Note the glass in his hand, many of the artists offer wine and appetizers making for a very enjoyable evening. Art Walk hours are from 4:00PM to 8:00PM.

As the evening winds down many of those enjoying Art Walk gravitate to a restaurant.
Lynne from Winnie Views toured with us during Art Walk and she created a superb blog post found here. Her photos are top notch. I purposely did not post many of mine as she did such great job, so be sure to check out her post.
I think that Lynne had a marvellous evening. Doesn't she look great?
The five of us ended up at our restaurant of choice at the Plazuela Machado, the Beach Burger. Of course Colin and I danced to our now favorite band. Check out Lynne's post for the photos. The Plazuela was a beehive of energy full of happy people.

That is a fun way to spend an evening, we did when we were on the Osla too.

Looks like you all are having a grand time! We are here in Florida, camped on the beach, FREEZING!! We are definitely considering a change of Lattitude next year. Keep posting…love it!
Looks like you are having a great time in Mexico. Thanks for the tip on the dust in my camera. I gave it a slight tap on the counter, and the dust has disappeared. I am still looking into getting a new camera, but in the meantime my pictures are much better. THANKS!
Evelyn…..I’m so happy that the tap worked. If you get anew camera you might want to get the same one you have and then you will have an extra battery.
