Do you want to be healthy?

Of course you do.  We all do.  This past summer I came upon a product that is not exactly the Fountain of Youth but close to it. This simple all natural product will not change your exterior appearance but will affectively lower your age on the inside.  Scientific research has validated oxidative stress—damage to your body’s cells by free radicals—as the root cause, at the cellular level, of aging. In fact, studies show that metabolic wear and tear caused by free radicals in cells accelerates aging, the problems associated with aging and contributes to more than 100 health conditions.

PROTANDIM:

ELIMINATES UP TO ONE MILLION FREE RADICAL MOLECULES A SECOND,

24 HOURS A DAY, WITHOUT BEING DEPLETED.

By clicking on the above link you will find a few articles and videos on Protandim.  Click on the segment done by ABC News Primetime and you will see how this one per day pill works.  There is even a blood test to prove to you how it positively affects your body.  At less than $1.50 per day it is certainly worth trying to restore your body.  Colin and I have been on this product since July 22 (the day he turned 60) and we love it.  The only bad news is that it can’t be purchased in Canada.  However it is available in the USA and in Mexico.

Canadians are able to pick up the product in the USA or in Mexico or have it shipped to a US post office and pick it up there.

I strongly encourage you to at the very least listen to the ABC Primetime video.  If you are interested in trying Protandim I will be able to put you in touch with the right contact.

The totally natural one a day wonder pill!

Colin went a fishing…..

This is big, actually huge news.  He has always wanted to do it but the opportunity just wasn’t there.  About a week ago Colin got a call from Bruce ( as in Palm Springs and BMW Z3 Bruce) asking if he would like to go fishing to Ucluelet?  This is a great year for salmon and they were likely to catch something. So with little notice and minimal preparation they left here Sunday ( Sept. 12) and drove to Ucluelet, had dinner and went to bed.  Bruce said they had to be at the boat at 6:00AM.

So off into the foggy ocean they went.  Fortunately it was calm and not raining….Colin still took his Gravol.  They trolled….letting the rods drift along until they saw movement upon which they pulled in the fish.  Colin found this part boring….he would have liked to sit and hold the rod and feel the strike.  They had a midmorning visit while about 11 miles out, about an hour out.  This tiny bird landed on a rod and just breathed and breathed.  It obviously was out of it’s element and seemed to be in a bit of trouble.

It actually is a Prairie Warbler and way out of it’s normal area.  The boat captain tried to catch it but it got away then still having trouble it landed again on the rod.  This time the bird was captured and put into a small box.

This tiny bird is known to forage in low undergrowth and rarely ascends higher then 10 feet...yet here it was out 11 miles out in the middle of the ocean!!

The good news is that the bird was returned to shore and let free.

The great news is that between them ,the guys caught 7 Spring salmon, 1 Coho salmon and 2 Halibut.  The largest fish was almost 48lbs and the smallest was 14lbs.  Quite the catch within a three hour time limit.

They were back at the dock by 1:30PM, drove to the ferry and napped and Colin was home just after midnight Monday night. An extremely eventful almost 48 hours.  The next few days were a haze, 17 hour day on Tuesday including a presentation to Kelowna builders, Wed. was another 16 hour day, Thursday was only 12 hours and today Friday, 14 hours.  I do think that is why the fishing opportunity does not come up too often as he is usually working.  Needless to say he is a bit weary  but a happy fisherman.  We hope to have a late salmon dinner tonight about 10:00PM.

Travel Medical Insurance

Today I am getting all of our insurance in order.  This includes home, RV and travel medical.  I have just had a huge shock!!  Colin turned 60 in July and we thought..here comes the good life, senior discounts almost everywhere.  Not so with travel medical insurance. Up till now we paid a $68.00 (34.00 each) base which is good for 30 day trips all year.  In addition we topped up to the number of days we were away, last winter it was $403.00 for a total of $471.50.  Today I was told that the base fee for myself is $79.00 and for Colin is $150.00 (because he is old) and the top up is $707.40 for a total of $936.40.  That is seriously going to affect my wine fund.

So please help us out….Who do you use?  Does this increase seem unreasonable?

This was for a  $2,000,00.00 medical benefit plan with a $250.00 deductible.

Any and all advice requested…..asap!

Bug spray…humans & pets

I plan to start my B complex intramuscular shots next week as a precaution against those nasty no-see-ums that seem to be invading the Mazatlan area.  I get a terrible reaction from the bites so I have done some research. The following links are the best I have found and are used on your RV site itself, on humans and on pets.

This last link is a rather long read but extremely interesting as it explains ‘no-see-ums’ and their very existence.  Throughout the article are various products that they sell.  Just read the article and at the end you will be able to click on anything that interests you.  We plan to become consumers of some of these products.

Let me know what you think.

Again mucho lluvia a la noches.  Here is what we woke up to.

So much rain that one of my ornamental grasses collapsed!

Missed photo op!!!

I guess I’m still getting into this blogging thing because yesterday would have made for the perfect photo.  As Colin was caught up with his photoshop work and the weather wasn’t perfect for photography he decided to start preparing the RV for the trip south.  First he emptied everything out of the RV basement and out of the shed.  Then he went under the house to pull out all kinds of stuff we need for Mexico. The yard was a mess, piles everywhere but within a few hours he had it all organized.  He even made certain to leave room in the middle of the basement for me to put all my cases of wine that I’ll buy in the US. Some stuff is set aside to put into the car.  He was happy to get this chore done and not have to do it in the wind and rain of October.

I have so much to do myself to prepare but can’t quite get going on the to do’s.  I really want to get there, see my plants, get more plants and to just sit in the warmth of the sun.  But first there are hours of desk work re the company business, shopping, especially natural health products, a refill of my huge first aid basket, ordering both the medical & Mexican insurance, seeing the vet and getting US dollars and Pesos and so on.  I am torn between going ahead now and buying or waiting a bit longer just in care the dollar goes up.  Then there are the grocery items that you can’t get south of the border like shredded coconut absolutely required to make coconut shrimp.  You can buy a whole coconut,  heck you can just go knock it off the tree but nowhere can you find it shredded.  Little things like pickles, relish, Claritin, etc. are impossible to find in Mexico.  And then there all those items needed to complete special recipes for pot lucks or happy hour.

This is what Kelowna is like in the winter. Because of the moisture from so many lakes, low laying clouds are formed and the only way to see the sun is to head up to the ski slopes. I say hit the road for Mexico.

Actually this is what we are experiencing today with a similar forecast for the week ahead!  Okay Contessa….time to start preparing.  Move it girl.
