There actually is a Lambly ( Bear ) Creek which is a very active creek that runs into Lake Okanagan.

We found a trail that runs mostly along the creek, if you can’t see the creek you can hear it.

Near where it runs into the lake. You can barely see the patch of white just to the left of Colin’s shoulders.

It is one of the unique camping sites here in the park.  Most are dry camping, there are seven, perhaps eight full hook up sites with 50 amp and roughly 48  –  30 amp electric only sites, most of which were recently converted from dry camping sites. We were in one of those 30 amp sites. However this particular spot is a perfect dry camping site complete a running creek and your own beach. Kokanee do spawn here in the fall.

Another special site, you can see that the rvers have moved their chairs to enjoy the lake view.

There are so many wonderful places to camp here at Bear Creek. However being a provincial campground you can only book exactly two months ahead and there is very stiff competition for sites here, any site. We lucked out getting out site but almost didn’t.

There is a beach to the left of the park that appears to be open to everyone including off leash dogs.

Our girls loved it.  No doubt that they will be enjoying the Isla beach.

They so loved all the new experiences and activities that they kept coming up ( day after day ) to us to give us huge kisses as a thank you. They would run ahead and turn around and jump up to kiss us. They loved all the various sniffs in the park.

The girls became braver and soon were running ( not just standing ) at the edge of the water. At one point a boat went past and the resulting waves frightened the girls.

We saw snow fall!! Actually it was the Cottonwood trees.

The fluff was everywhere and now it is in my house.

Colin had found a large box of very dry wood under the house and brought it along.

I don’t think that we have had campfire for at least 20 years.  That wood has been hauled around a bit.

So we had hot dogs for lunch one day!! So very yummy. You can see the buns, condiments onions, etc behind me on the picnic table. Of course I had wine my special lunch.

Going to have to try this method of cutting toe nails.

The girls love to be in the car but were a bit unsettled at first in the RV. We have just driven a few hundred feet and are not at the highway yet.  I don’t need any negative comments on how we are driving with the dachshunds on the dash. We have been doing this since 1999 and we are not being unsafe. They travel this way for just a few moments and then move into their bed and fall asleep. No need to go into all the details re safety, etc

Our site here in Bear Creek which is a hard fight to even get. You can book two months in advance but it is a lottery and if you hit the computer button just right at 7AM on a certain day you win the lottery and get a site. Such a beautiful place and we are here for five nights. Just across the road from us is a couple who also live in our park. The next day we bumped into another couple and their two dogs who also live in Holiday Park. What with Covid we only have so far that we can travel.

Sunday night, our first night, we had friends who are also in the park, for happy hour. However it was very cold with a wind. I have not been taking photos.  It is enough just to keep an eye on the girls every second of the day.

Under that pile of blankets are the girls.  They could not stop shivering. But the weather more or else improved.

The twins did love sitting on the dash in the sunshine when it was there. Very complicated set up safely get them on onto the dash. Too much happening too soon. I will get photos of the set up, we are already on our second one.

It is a work in progress setting up an area for the girls. The first night they kept eating everything on the ground, tiny stones, twigs, leaves, etc and of course were sick. Second day we came up with the tarp idea enclosed with the dog pen.

The girls loved it as long as we were right beside them.

One of the twins lost a tooth a few days ago.  I have tried and tried using my finger to feel as well as lift the lips but I can’t find who lost the tooth. Oh well, many more loose teeth to come.

Colin and I have been busy this week but Ciela just loves to laze around. Every time that she wakes up she uses her paw to rub her face and ears.

So cute, what else can I say. They love to have a bath and we give them one every 2 -3 weeks. They love the sandbox so much that we are having to use a damp towel to clean them off.  The good thing is that they haven’t dug a new hole in almost a week.

I made three sets of bells, one for the front door and one for the patio door, with a different sound and another for the RV. The plan is to have the pups paw or nose the bell which will bring one of us to open the door.  Each time I open the door I say ” outside ” open the door and let the pups ( always two at a time – they do everything together ) out. I have only been doing this for a full day and tonight Ciela went and rang the patio  bell. We jumped to open the door and say outside.  She then went out and did ‘both”. Yahoo!

Yet another love in. They have a bed at the front porch and also another on the back porch and even sometimes also on the lawn.  Spoiled? Not my kids, this is the norm 🙂

They love each other so much. Yet when they wrestle and fight and bite each other I can’t bear the yelps of pain. They say that this is normal. Not to me.

The sunset last night covered the mountains with an interesting light last evening. As you can see the snow is finally melting.

The girls have been digging so many holes in our lawn.

None of the other four doxies dug like this.  In fact the twins even ate 1 -2 inches off the legs of this plastic screen. It was meant to stand up around the hole but they just pushed it away.

This hole went right down to the tree root. The girls seem to egg each other on.

So I found a free sandbox on FB Marketplace. First come first serve. Obviously Colin arrived first. So he went to the local lumber yard  to pick ups some sand. $19.00!! Oh well, almost free.

He had to shovel from the car into a wheelbarrow, a few loads.

Then move the sand from the tarp to the sandbox. A labour of love.

The girls were a bit unsure at the beginning so Colin planted a ball and a bone and a few other items.

Sometimes Carlie would not let Caeli in. A bit of a standoff.

About a week later it was a free for all.

The sandbox also became another wrestling zone.

Aren’t they cute.

We are almost at the end of this pandemic. We just need to hang in for another month or two.  Don’t give-up. Keep wearing your mask and remember to social distance  and be sure to get your vaccine jabs.

They do love to share a bed most of the time. Yesterday they were certainly being twins.

Colin spent most of yesterday building a second long ramp which will work for our second set of stairs here at home as well as in the RV with a small attachment while on the road. I will show you once it is complete. They are already spoiled and love to go in one entrance and out the other. Some of my new patio furniture for our new shed /front entrance patio area. I love that the chairs can recline in 4  positions not to mention the great foot stools.

This fellow along with his dog were quietly drifting along with a fishing rod in hand. Except he had his music turned up high.

The girls are really doing well and are paying more attention to the ‘no’ and the ‘off ‘. I only seem to say good girl when they do their business.  So many changes weekly and often by the day.

Did you know that dachshunds aka doxies are bred to back up? They are trained to hunt in burrows so need to know how to back up. Here Carlie is at the bottom of the ramp but Ciela changed her mind and went inside. So Carlie simply backed up.

Almost there. You would think that it would be easier to step off the ramp and come back up properly. This is an instinctive behaviour. How many puppies/dogs can back up a ramp?
