A bit better…

…went to bed at 9PM the past 2 nights and this morning I felt much better.  I even took 4 hours off this morning to sit in the sun and read and relax.  What a treat.  Sore throat gone, just some sneezing now.   I think I wore myself out.  Colin has been doing photoshop all day from his last few days of photography.  My job is to get the invoices done……well maybe tomorrow.

He was suppose to work tonight but we have a smoky haze due to a small forest fire on the Westside so no sunset shots tonight.  The big plan is to give the girls a bath later today……so much easier in Mexico.

Do you have idea how much window coverings cost these days?  A small fortune!  Thinking of just having roller shades but mucho dinero!  We don't want to do venetian blinds again.  Any suggestions out there.

Enjoy your weekend.

I'm feeling a bit under the weather, generally exhausted and fighting a sore throat.  Just trying to get thru the days. It's going to be over 32C today!  Spent a few hours at the house getting the kitchen countertops measured for the granite.  Of course there were a few issues with that but they were mostly resolved.  The porcelain floor tiles are in and look fabulous.  Still a lot to get done by the delivery day. Our kitchen sink is somewhere between Scotland and Canada but no one knows where or when it will get here.

This is the type of work Colin does in Vancouver.

Colin and the helicopter pilot. The doors are off so it is cold up there.

Jason, Colin's favorite fixed wing pilot. Between them they get the impossible done.

Hopefully this little guy did not exceed the time limit!

Que Pasa

Lots of things happening….actually in my world when aren't there things happening?

Carmeh is scheduled for surgery on Monday July 30th.  I am so glad because sooner is better plus we will still be on this site for her first 7 days post surgery  decreasing any confusion or new noises ( like the noisy kids next door to us on the new site we move to on August 6th. ).

Colin left at 3:30 AM for Vancouver.  He has a huge amount of aerial photography to do from both a helicopter and a fixed wing.  First the constant rain then the smoke from Colorado and Siberia fires have affected his work this summer.  He will drive back late tonight.

Great news for the Isla……overrun by Mexican tourists.  So happy for everyone on the Isla.

It will be interesting to see how much the corkage fee is going to be.

Sad News

Sad but not devastating. Colin took Carmeh into the vet today as we have been noticing a pus like substance coming out of her right eye.  This happened once while still in Mexico but of late we are noticing it several times per day.  Our vet spent a long time checking Carmeh out, in fact about $242.66 worth of tests and time.  Diagnosis, small tumor just inside the upper eye lid.  She will need surgery  fairly soon to remove this ever growing growth.  The cost won't be an issue but having her wear a collar 24 hours per day post surgery will be stressful most especially as this is coming close to house delivery time.  Hope to get a date for surgery later today.

This is Carmeh hiding in the RV bathroom during a recent thunderstorm. We covered her shaking body with pillows to make her feel protected. You can see her eye just under the red pillow.

But just like after a storm she will come out shining and happy again.

Carmeh really wanted to open Colin's birthday gift! Not sure if she can figure out how to use a new pair of binoculars.

The bathroom in the new place! Lots of work to do in the next 8 days!!!

Another fun day….

….life is good.  We are managing to fit in some good times in the middle of chaos.  Colin worked on our yard yesterday, all the pavers are now in place and the beach is lovely again.  Caeli keeps escaping any chance she can.  Yesterday we got a ransom note for her.

I guess she is getting more love further down the street.

Had some huge storms go thru here yesterday.  Wish I had had my camera to capture the rain bouncing off the lake while the sun was shining.  I was enjoying the storm under my neighbors awning.  When it came time to head home the street was flooded from the huge amounts of water that had fallen.  Today lots of wind so far, maybe more rain.  Gives us time to catch up on paperwork and make another hundred calls about the house.
