Starting to feel like Christmas!

Christmas Eve and listening to my French carols and catching up on my blog……perfect.  They sun is shining, the waves are breaking and the 5C's are muy feliz.  We caught our 3rd mouse yesterday, again thanks to the girls pointing out that the trap was full.

Our friends Pat & Gord have been doing a house/dog sitting thing for the past 10 days and we along with other friends were invited to dine.  What made this so special is that it is in a huge ( as in 10,000 sq ft ) Mexican Hacienda right off the Plazuela Machado that has been completely redone by an interior designer.

The house is built in a square surrounding a large courtyard open to the sky.

Everything is very custom.

A beautiful kitchen.

Lots of stained glass everywhere.

Just before dinner there was a knock at the door and my 'free' case of wine was delivered. I had entered a contest online in Mazatlan and I won! About time I collect my winnings.

Pat & Gord made us feel like we are at an extremely high end restaurant. We all thought they should open a restaurant.

From the very best margaritas ever, followed by a wonderful appetizer...

...to the gourmet first course to last bite, it was divine.

No more photos of the liquors, the port and the chocolate decadent desert. What a way to start celebrating the holidays.

They had to pour us into a pulmonia for the trip back the la Isla.

The next night Colin had to settle for homemade pizza.

...I fell asleep halfway through! Carmeh is sleeping on the lounger and Caeli put herself to bed. That left Colin to do the cleanup.

Christmas is almost here and life is good!

Que pasa!

Well other than that fact that my husband borrowed my blog last night life is good.  Actually I seem to have an allergic reaction to something and my chest, arms and neck are lit up like Santa's suit!  I have tried everything I can think of, next step is to delete everything that goes into my mouth that  is new since we left home.  Not fun at all, all red and itchy.

We caught another mouse this morning…….actually Carmeh told us where it was.  Where there is one there are more.

Tres Amigos has had a few comings and goings, one a Mexican family living in their RV fulltime.  Another, an American couple with a 40' 5th wheel drove the road in just for one night.  They are headed further south to check up on their 40' boat in Puerto Vallarta!!

We had an RV1 farewell for our French couple, here for just 3 weeks but already talking about returning next December for longer.

We were entertained with a your girls celebration her 15th birthday. In Mexico this is marked by a special celebration called a Quinceaneras!

Click here for a brief explanation of a young girls most special celebration in her life, often surpassing her wedding.

Our evening concluded with Colin and I having a camera face off. I took this photo.

Colin wins....so much more detail in a professional camera! Either way, another great sunset photo.

We are still here.. blog by Senor Colin, first time, bumbling thru blog directions, Contessa is sleeping

Well … we are still here. End of the world, we waited, had cnn on, had the motorhome ready to back up and hit the road in a hurry and waited and waited.

We did hear a ground blast similar to a bomb but nothing came of it. Maybe a car backfire???

Finally it was wine time and time for diner. Special last day supper Pizza by Contessa included making the crust, chopping, cooking veggies, adding mucho queso chihuahua and baking. The feature movie was Annihilation Earth. However, after 35 minutes Contessa was bored, or done for the day so I ended up pouring her wine into my glass, doing the dishes and in 3 hours it will be Dec 22. Another unpredictable day in our casa. Possibly another bottle will be opened after I tuck my family into bed and the show will continue. So the picture below is our memory of our last day on earth and we will see if it will be our reality tomorrow.

A day in photos!

One morning Caeli spots her boyfriend!

We just can't control her.....:)) She is such a pushover.

I have the easy job of putting fertilizer in my watering cans and filling them with water. Colin gets to carry them around. Right now I am watering everything three times per week and fertilizing everything every two weeks.

A crab hunting day.

Carmeh was really into the excavating...

...Colin then throws the crab into the ocean and they try and find it.

They have become less afraid of the water and good swimmers.

Caeli finally gets the crab.....check her teeth out! Sorry Zoe!!

Happy hour and raffle fundraiser, all these items are donated by us and then we buy tickets to win them back! Tomorrow the food hampers and toys will be delivered.

Yet another sunset.

Hopefully the sun will set tonight and rise again tomorrow the 22nd of December, the beginning of a new age!

Twas not in the plans…..

….I very strongly decided that I was not going to get caught up in the holiday party go around…….well tonight will be my 5th night in a row and my last till my sister arrives on the 28th.  I need to rest up.  Hard to keep up with my blog with all that activity plus our daytime to do's.

We went for a short family beach walk the other morning.....twas divine!

I met my friend Maria along the way. There is a new restaurant on the beach that serves only fish. It is run by her Mexican family so she vouches for the food and clean kitchen.

It is located between the Cantina and Victor's Restaurant. Usually open about noonish except on Thursday.

Lovely bright signage.

The menu is limited to fish and shrimp. Feel free to bring your own cerveza or vino!

Back home.....

Coming up with some new Christmas decorating ideas. I hung these on the canopy beachside where they glisten in the sun.

Last year I was so precise when I hung these red and gold balls, this year it was a free for all.

It is looking Christmasy, almost like 'twas the night before Christmas'! Not too bad considering we are not into that seasonal feeling this year. I am listening to my French Christmas carols which mean the most to me and is helping me get into the spirit.

….”and all through the house not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse” !!

Thank goodness.......we finally caught Cecil the mouse 🙂
