Looks like it is becoming more official. The cruise ships are coming back to Mazatlan.
http://mazmessenger.com/2013/03/13/cruise-ships-return-to-mazatlan-2/
Both Holland America and Norwegian cruise lines plan at least 10 arrivals by the end of 2013 and between 25 – 30 arrivals over the first half of 2014.
So now you can drive/RV here, fly here and now cruise here once again.

Working on our trip home and miles and stops, yesterday. My brain is still tired.

We cooked the last of the shrimp we had in the freezer. The pineapple really added to the flavor. Colin got the potato while I had quinoa.

So many pelicans come to the small island across from us to roost for the night.

The colors in the sky are changing by the minute.

Quite amazing and a new show every night.

I love how the clouds seem to be falling from the sky.

….yikes…..53 spam comments….thanks goodness…WORD PRESS caught them all….but still!!!
Great news….THE CRUISE SHIPS ARE COMING BACK to Mazatlan……details here.
We have decided our future and yes it is cast in stone….well unless the RV breaks down or the road closes down…all the things the happened to us last April. No way do I want to experience any of that again.
For the first time ever we plan on only driving 300 miles per day. Usually our first day out of here is a full 10 to 12 hour day all the way to San Carlos. In order to accommodate me, Colin has reluctantly agreed to 300 mile days. That means our first stop from Tres Amigos is only a 6 hour trip to Los Mochis rather than San Carlos. We have mapped out 300 mile or less days from here to Kelowna, Canada with a few shopping hours in the USA.
We leave here Monday April 8th and arrive back home in Kelowna on Saturday April 20th.
Only 24 days away from D Day so we really have to concentrate on R and R!!!!

I’m still sneezing and blowing my nose and stuffed up but at least my skin rash has calmed down. I really do hope that I don’t have to be totally gluten free forever. We would have to adapt to an entire new way to eat. The soy products we eat are NON GMO, thank goodness. I appreciate all of your concerns in that regard.
Today it was so foggy that we could not even see the water. I guess because we had such a great December, January and February that we had to get some bad weather. It was 63F this morning and did get up to 72F but the wind is strong and still cool. The RV windows have been mostly closed for a few days but today we even closed the door. The girls really did not like that as they are use to coming and going at will. The next few weeks look very promising with temps warming up soon, at least by end of this week.

Starting to get things organized to head home. Organizing my jewellery was a good inside day project.
We are also in the process of making a departure day decision and the ensuing travel plans.
We got confirmation today that our Culiacan family has decided to come visit us yet again for Semena Santa. They arrive March 25th for five nights. More music and guitar playing to come.

Someone has decided that advertising on the wall is a good way to go.
In this photo you see a van and two tents parked beside us. They arrived late yesterday afternoon and left this morning. They were taking the Baja Ferry today but it must have been a cold night for them. Just so you know, tents are not allowed here in the RV park. An exception was made yesterday.

Besides us there are only two other RV's in RV1. As you can see the wall painting goes right across the front but switched to red and smaller letters.
The sunset last night was exquisite and Colin went out and shot it for me as I was feeling so miserable. It was a beauty.

This has been an unsettled few months for me.
In addition to my other problems I now seem to have developed a reaction to gluten. My skin rash returned suddenly last week and I was able to pinpoint an intake of flour quesadillas as the the only different thing I had done in those few days. It had nothing to do with sitting in the sun as there hasn’t been any. Today is day 5 of being gluten free. I have spent hours online studying this situation and have decided that I will try it for 2 weeks and then see what happens as I add gluten. The rash is disappearing but my entire skin is peeling and it looks horrid. I really really do not need this challenge in my life at this time.
Colin and I do not eat pork, beef or chicken. We do eat dairy and fish plus a lot of soy products. I just discovered that all of the soy products we use ( mainly Yves products ) have a wheat protein in them. If I find that I am gluten intolerant this will affect our eating habits as we eat soy products at least five times per week. Right now I am just taking it one day at a time.
Yes things really should be better. The weather here is bizarre. We should be sitting in the shade to get out of the heat. Instead we are sitting inside to get out of the cool wind.
Heck, I am even running out of wine.
Fortunately I have Mother Nature for inspiration. These were taken yesterday.

…and Colin of course but things seem tough right now.

Yesterday was so windy that it was time for some beach action.

Yesterday this car stops right out front and starts pulling things out. Are they setting up a tent in the wind?

No it looks like a surfer of some sort. He needs help getting the kite up.

Finally up in the air. Next he walks the kite into the water.

In the blink of an eye he is up on his board. How did he do that? I was watching and missed it.

...and he was off.....very very fast down the beach towards Estrella. Someone in the car was chasing him along the beach. We never did see how far he got.
Always something to see here on Stone Island.
