We went to Mazatlan yesterday

Things needed to be done so we left the girls at home and headed out to the big city and our first trip across the channel this season.

We weren't certain but it did look like thie load of possibly scrap metal ( but really it looked like dirt ) was being loaded onto this freighter.

A loval fisherman had tod us that due to the extrmem heat on the ocean that there was no dorado ( mahi mahi ) to be found and that shrimp were also at risk.

A local fisherman had told us that due to the extreme heat of the ocean that there was no dorado ( mahi mahi ) to be found and that shrimp were also at risk.  So once we got on the Mazatlan side we stopped at the fish market.

She had dorado! It is the white fish on the left. So we bought 1/2 kilo for 80 pesos hoping to pick it up in 4 hours on our way back to the Isla. She was closing early and we had to take the fish now so she packed it in a bag with lots of ice and we carried it around with ys for several hoursl The ice melted and leaked out of our bags.

The ice melted and leaked out of our cold pack bag.  The fish did remain chilled and was alright when we got home.  We are having it tonight.

Next stop was the Freeman Hotel were we purchased our tickets for the firework display during Carnival.

Next stop was the Freeman Hotel were we purchased our tickets for the firework display during Carnival in February.  This is the view from the 10th floor office.  That tall hill in the background is the Isla.  You can see the shipping channel just to the left, that sliver of silver water where we come across. The RV Park is just behind the hillside.

If we lived her, this would be my new car. Love the color.

If we lived here, this would be my ride. Love the color of this personal pulmonia.

After a quick stop at the Panama Bakery we walked throught the Plazueal Machado where it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

Our next stop took us to a second Panama Bakery where we ran into Carol and Bill having lunch.  We chatted for a bit and then moved on so they could enjoy their meal.  We made plans to get together next weekend.

We did a flurry of shopping at the mercardo where Colin got three shirts and I purchased three of my botton and pocket sundreseeeeews/

We did a flurry of shopping at the mercardo where Colin got three shirts and I purchased three of my button and pocket sundresses.  Of course we loaded our bag with pineapple, papaya, chihuahua cheese and other delicacies.  We had a late lunch at Tony’s Burgers…….what else but a shrimp burger.  Thought of you Chris and Juan.

Last night.

Last night.

So good to be back here.

Just as I sat down to relax in the lounge chair with a book and a glass of wine late this afternoon,  I was surprised with a delivery of a dozen roses.  A gift from the owner of the Tres Amigos RV Park, David Perez.

Yesterday we were able to sit out and watch the ocean and the beach activity. So nice to be back to our breakfast fruit plate.  The papaya and pineapple are top notch.

For the third time in a month I started the same book but after 40 pages I just wanted to sit and enjoy the view.

Can you imagine having to push this heavy cart up and down the beach each day to make a living?

I have to admit to being two days behind in my posts.  So today I just skipped to yesterdays events and over the next few days I will catch you up on what you missed. We went shopping Wednesday for plants and this is one of my five new hibiscus.  I had no idea what color it would be as I bought for height and for bushiness.

Caeli like to hang out with me where as Carmeh hangs with Colin.

The sunset last night was at ture gift on nature.

The sunset last night was a true gift of nature.  The only color was as the sun slipped behind El Faro then it quickly went to a dull grey sky.  I was fortunate to be able to capture it as I sat in my chair with a glass of vino.  The perfect end to another long day.

You know I’m tired….

~ when I wait till the end of the day to wish my American friends and readers ” A Very Happy Thanksgiving”.  I sincerely hope that you all had a great day.

~ when I decide that I am too tired to go out to dinner tonight to one of my favorite places.  I would rather make dinner in the RV.

An unexpected guest this evening. He was the size of my hand.

An unexpected guest this evening.  Colin found him on our newly put out carpet. He was the size of my hand.

~ when I fell asleep at the computer writing my  previous post.

~ when I have accepted that 83F and 65% humidity is normal and don’t turn on the A/C.

Linda & Kevin, it is safe to return to your home om the Isla.

~ when I have 143 emails to open and deal with.

~ when I decide that a few pieces of fruit at 11:55AM are adequate for breakfast.

Basically the last 48 hours have been loco.  We aren’t over the top but pretty close but at the same time being very happy that we are almost set up.  Some people like to take 2 -3 weeks to set to get organized.  We prefer to do it as soon as possible so that we can just stop and take the entire day off and do as we wish.  Yes we do a big set up but that is our preference.  We like it to look nice and I really enjoy my garden here as other than doing pots at home, this is it, the garden that I enjoy.  Here I have been trimming my jungle of bougainvillea and got 11 plants replaced and planted today.  Lots of work but at the same time so very satisfying to get our winter home setup to what we really like.  I seem to have more energy and strength as I, as well as Colin, push ourselves just a tad further.

We did sit and watch the sunset this evening and marveled at what we had accomplished.  We figure two more days and we will be done and can then just enjoy each day to the fullest for the next four months.  Then my book reading and his guitar playing will begin.

Colin and Caeli waiting for sunset. The girls got a bath today and were enjoyuing the heat of the late afternoon to dry out.

The color is growing on us.

Yes that is a new canvas top to our gazebo. The color is growing on us.  We had ordered it in 2013 for our previous gazebo but it got lost out to sea during a storm. So we had an extra top which worked out yesterday as the  gazebo roof split as we set it up.  We will for certain need a new 10 x 10 gazebo structure next year as certain parts have totally rusted through.

The Amreican thank

The American Thanksgiving sunset from the Isla.  I do hope that all my American readers had a wonderful celebration today.

Thank you all for your comments and emails as that is what keeps me going.  I do have many more photos from the past few days to share with you, even a surprise or two.

Tres Amigos Special Promotion…..

At the moment there are no time restraints on this promotion.  King David, the owner of Tres Amigos RV Park is offering a monthly stay for $350.00 USD plus electric  in any row other than the ocean front row, in either Park 1 or Park 2. Front row is $30.00/35.00 US per night.

At the moment there are 4 front row sites available until the end of December and possibly mid January.  Things are changing constantly so this may be the year that you come on down to the Isla. You do have to remember that the road in is now paved other than 1/2 mile at the beginning..  Getting here is easy.

Paradise on earth in my opinion.
