We have been having fun these past 12 days

King David one of the owners of Tres Amigos RV Park had a posada for all the RVers, our friends and his employees.

I was first on the dance floor having met up with Hugo, a local fellow who speaks 7 languages.  I met him as a waiter at a local restaurant about six years ago, but he headed out to Aguascalientes to work as a translator for the Japanese at the Mitsubishi auto plant. We had a blast together years ago and now here he was back in town.  He calls me his blonde, which in French loosely translates to his girlfriend.

Our table that night. All but Colin were French Canadians.

Pierre and I dancing, what a great lead he was.

A few days later we were back in the Plazuela Machado with friends for dinner and dancing.  That is Colin and I in the bottom right corner.

I was so excited and somewhat nervous when Bill asked me to dance.  After all he is a pro, we did have a great dance.  Another great lead.

On the way home that night we saw this ship being loaded with all sizes of yachts and sail boats.  Apparently they are being moved via the Panama Canal to other areas of the world for the various owners.  Ahh, the life of  the rich and perhaps famous.

A few days ago on the 20th we were part of a Secret Santa for both RV1 and RV2.  Hard to see, but all the gifts were under this table.  It was fun little party.

Carmeh has good parts of the day and not so great parts.  We thought she was going into a flare up the other day but it seemed to pass several hours later.  So hard to judge how she is doing.  This morning she was going around the yard eating all the strands of grass that she could find.  All we can do is give her tons of love and deal with each day as it happens.

We have been taking her to the beach in her stroller the last two days.  She loves being out there but is not interested in walking these days.  Maybe tomorrow.

The weather remains humid, close to 90%, and this is what we have woken up to much of this week.

The fog quickly dissipates once the sun is high in the sky.  It does make for hot nights ( and days of course ), so unusual for this time of year.

We had a lovely but too short visit from Bella and Carl yesterday. They were one of the first RVers here many years ago. We were parked next to them 6 years ago, their last season here at Tres Amigos.  The girls fell in love with Bella and Carl and vice versa.  Caeli squealed when she saw Carl walk up from the beach yesterday.  Such love.

Taken a few nights ago.

That ball of sun is actually red as it sets but as Colin explained to me, you really can’t capture that on your camera.  Regardless it was another wonderful sunset.

Umm….Colin…I think I broke the toilet

We have been busy doing a bit of this and a lot of that and some resting in between.  More details once I find time to edit the photos.

Carmeh is improving.  It is a fight twice per day getting this tiny Pepcid pill down her throat.  I am not looking forward to using the 4X larger pill in four days time.  I plan to start only giving her the Pepcid once per day at bedtime after we complete this 12 day course of Pepcid.  I have no idea if I am making the right decision but is it better to possibly overdose her with 5mg BID ( twice per day ) or just 5mg per day?  Who knows what will work?   Sadly yesterday she twisted/sprained he front right leg.  It seems that there is always some drama in our lives.  So Colin carried her for our beach walk yesterday.  Today she walked a very few feet about three times and was carried the rest of the way.  She seemed much better later in the day today and we didn’t see any limping.  I have not treated her and plan to just let nature take its course as the injury does not seem too serious.

The girls enjoying a mid morning snooze while we enjoyed our fruit breakfast.

The heat continues to be unseasonably warm and humid.  Mother Nature is amazing.  We are fortunate to have the heat where we are even if I find it a tad too warm.  I just wear less clothing 😀

I finally got two pots of seeds planted, one of kale and the other swiss chard.  Due to the heat they sprouted within 3-4 days instead of the regular 7 – 10 days.  However I also got these strange white things.

I suspect it is something in the soil we bought in Palm Springs.  The white things only last a day and only reappear every two days.

Colin and I took the panga over to Mazatlan and a pulmonia to the box office at the Angela Peralta Theater today.  There was an additional symphonic concert that I wanted to see but the computers were down.  No way to get tickets for a few days.  Too bad as we won’t be back till early January.  We then walked to the mercardo to purchase our final groceries for our Christmas meals.  Lots and lots of people doing their Christmas shopping and I was melting due to the heat.  Lunch at Tony’s helped 😉  So happy to get back to the Isla and the freshness of the air and sounds of the ocean.

Oh yes….the toilet problem…..well I simply put my foot on the pedal to press down to flush and heard a loud crack 😯   Then the water just kept flowing.  Gulp!  Ahh Colin…help please.  Long story short we can sort of make it work manually.  Thank goodness for Eric, the best RV tech ever, he has the part that he thinks we might need and will be here tomorrow.  Phew…..not to be confused with peee-yew 😆

Our sunset this evening.

Today was exceptionally hot

Usually the temperature cools down in December and it did so for a very few days.  Then the moisture crept up and today we hit 32C/90F plus 70% humidity, and it was sweltering.  For the first time that I can remember in 7 full seasons here, there was no ocean breeze.  It was sticky and uncomfortable.  So glad that we did our 2 mile walk early this morning.  The lack of airflow made the day very very uncomfortable.  Just at sunset we turned on the RV A/C so that we could cool down, breath and relax, not to mention cook dinner in comfort.  This is not a complaint, just an observation.

Earlier tonight we watched the Michael Bubble Christmas Special with the A/C  on which did feel a tad more Christmasy with the cool air flowing around us.  Did I ever tell you that many years ago we were on a repositing cruise from Vancouver, BC to LA, California and that Michael Bubble was on the ship?  He was young back then and  sang at the karaoke night.  His Mom was proudly telling us all that he was on his way to an audition in LA.  Who knew back then that he would become so famous?

Last week when we took Carmeh to the Vet I saw this sign.  Don’t you think that each city should be one  above the other with the appropriate directional arrow.  This sign could be confusing if you only have a moment to glance at it.

It has been project time for us. Colin had to lift some of our patio bricks that have sunk over the years. Carmeh was the inspection supervisor.

The completed project. This is where we come up off the beach and sit and wash our feet as well as the girls after our beach walks.

Colin had to recover two of the indoor ramps. The girls have literally worn out the originals. So many ups and downs.

A large car carrying vessel heading out to sea, empty as far as we know.  The Mazatlan Port has been exceptionally busy this year.  Many ships coming in and going out everyday.  Often in port less than 24 hours, a major change from a few years ago when there was little activity.

Even Tres Amigos RV Park has been busy with projects.  Just under the palapa to the right you can see new cement posts rising from the lower brick wall.  This came about because of a very loud late night ( 4AM ) party held at the restaurant on the other side of the wall.  The RV Park owner was quick to raise the wall to help keep the sound down.  The cement posts went up and the restaurant owner said that there would be no more loud noise but the bricks, cement and sand remain in place in case they are needed.

A new walkway had been built for those in the back row wishing to walk to the beach.

A walk at low tide at sunset. Clam holes??

Nice to see the sunset from a different angle.

Just another sunset in paradise.

Mother Nature gave us a show

Last Friday ( Dec 9th ) we were treated to the most wonderful sunset ever.  We are so fortunate to be able to enjoy these experiences of nature.  The photos are all as taken with the camera.  I only cropped some of the shots.

The was facing rather far east of the setting sun. Great sky reflection.

The cloud detail and colors were amazing.  Yup that is a pelican.

So many changes in such a short period of time.

Just one of those very very special moments in time.
