Big Bang
The power slowly fizzled out as did the internet. Even the cell system was out for a bit. Hence no post.
Sorry, I should have said that this happened last night and I posted this this morning.

There is not a day that goes by that we don’t talk about the girls and of course we continue to miss them. Last February was the last time that they were able to run like the wind. Days prior and certainly many after we had to use the dog stroller as we walked the beach. I have never published most of these photos before nor the very short video. It has been too painful. But I feel that I owe it to them, as a memory of how things used to be on our beach walks.
I have to believe that they are running like the wind wherever they are. This 38 second video shows them running for the last time.

…..and brought their friends.

Alan and Laura dropped by with their friends early Thursday afternoon. I think that they are seriously interested in visiting the Isla in their RV next winter.
I sure hope so and that their friends come also. What a great bunch of people 😎 They would make a wonderful addition to the RV park. Standing on the left is Rod and sitting is Dave and of course that is Alan standing next to him. Carol is next ( Rod belongs to her ) and then me of course. Next is Laura and then Brenda who is paired with Dave. Alan and Laura’s friends also live in BC and they are all good chums. It was obvious that they have a great connection and have certain rules 😆 It didn’t take more than five minutes for Colin and I to figure out that when everyone has something to say at the same time that one has to put your hand up in the air and that will be respected as the next person to speak. It worked most of the time 😉

Brenda is a dog lover and literally had this fellow eating out of her hand. How many people do you know who carry kibble in their purse? Another hungry beach dog. He was back at the exact same spot the next morning waiting for her.

Colin had gone inside to get his special camera. Poor Alan, he got a face full of squirted water. Trick camera.

Adios amigos, till the next time. Thanks for sending this photo Alan. Don’t know why it is so small????

Just as they were leaving a truck came past with a horse attached. I assume that they were training it. I guess it is the Mexican way.

It was difficult to say goodbye as I felt such a connection to this group. They were off to El Velero for a drink or two before heading back to their respective hotels in Mazatlan. They did not come to Mazatlan as a group but all arrived within a few days of each other, yet do their own thing off and on.

Just as they had all arrived the plant truck came and left. I needed two more petunia plants and Colin dashed off in the car to follow the truck and get them. Gracias mi amore! Right after they left he replanted my two ill plant pots.

Sunset this past Thursday. That is a Princess ship heading out after a cool, as in windy and cold day, in Mazatlan.
FYI, the frozen tuna steaks were very very good. Not perfect as they were previously frozen. Once thawed we marinated them in a mix of fresh ground pepper and olive oil for about 45 minutes turning them over every 10 mintues or so. They were only an inch thick so we cooked them on the BBQ about 1.5 minutes on the first side and then one minute on the second side. They were a lovely red/pink in the middle. We did not get these at the mercado but at one of the major food stores (we have only been to two all winter ). Made by ‘Dolores’. I believe the the ones from the mercado will be as good if not better.

Totally done in this evening.
The weather remained cool and windy. Other than our beach walk this morning I spent the entire day at the computer. Colin literally brought me food and later in the day wine. I only stopped about 20 minutes ago, it is 7:30PM now. Time to prepare a gourmet meal featuring Mexican tuna steaks. Hope they will be good as I am counting on them to be one of our main meals next winter. First time we are trying these frozen steaks.
I am very tired but happy to say that all of our transportation within Europe has been booked. Something with the train sites today that took over 2 hours just to book one particular leg of the journey. I tried a few different sites online and the prices varied from 100 euros to 157 euros for the same trains. I finally settled at 137 euros ( as the 100 euro fare totally disappeared ) and was happy. That was for two of us on a first class 7 hour trip leg from Italy to France.
Regular scheduled blog posts will resume tomorrow.

It doesn’t matter now as we are freezing today. We had a low of 69F last night and today it has been cool and very windy. I had to wear a jacket on our beach walk today 😯 Certainly a first.
But about ten days ago the heat went from really nice and warm to very hot in just a few hours. I was inside doing even more research and it was uncomfortable even with a fan on. It was 90F inside 😥 So we turned the air conditioning on for the first time since late November. Within five minutes it went thunk thunk and that was it. Colin was able to establish that is was the actual fan that was not working as the compressor was still functioning.
It was the front air that was out, the bedroom was still operational but I just could not visualize heading to the Las Vegas area the first week of April without having A/C. Once past Vegas we would likely be using heat. So what to do but call Eric and see if he could fix the problem.

He had warned us two years ago that both units were very rusty and he was amazed that they were still working. Eighteen years of salt air will do that to an RV. Colin went up there and confirmed that the unit was barely staying together. He touched one of the fins with his finger and it disintegrated.

Fortunately Eric had a very used and rusty A/C fan that he had obtained last year and he thought that the fan should work in our unit. There was so much rust that Eric had to build a new mounting plate so he had something to screw the new used fan into.

While working on the inside part of the A/C unit these two tiny white eggs fell out of the panel. Gecko eggs???

This is the area the eggs fell out of. We now have A/C again. We will be bringing down two new A/C units to be installed next November.
