This is the entire company year end as well as our personal tax details. Lots of time involved to put this together. UPS will be delivering this to our accountants office in Vancouver Tuesday morning.

Still some personal odds and sods to finish off.

My desk was looking better by the end of today as in 10PM but still another two days before I am truly caught up.

My spices are back from the RV. Colin has made three trips there in two days.

Then he put then out on the counter for me in alphabetical order.

So I had no choice but to put them all away. I prefer my spice area in the RV where it eye level, no bending over.

Before we left for Mexico Colin had ordered two pieces of custom glass cut. Our back splash over the kitchen counter is wood and it was starting to get a bit spotted from water splashes so Colin installed a piece of glass behind the faucet. You can see the width by the masking tape outline. It fits from the bottom counter to just under the top counter. It was quite the job to keep the glass in place against the wall and to get the caulking done. Looks great now.

The second piece of glass that needed caulking was between the tub and the cabinet. When we built this place we decided to build a false box between the side of the cabinet and the tub. We were trying to avoid a dust collector area. However again water droplets were starting to mark the the top of the false box. Colin had made a template of the area so the glass could be cut to size. Nice to have these two areas protected.
We both feel like we are making progress. Today was a bonus day in that we had sunshine and warmth. Colin went out and did the first photography job of the year while I never even stepped outside. Hope to get out for a walk tomorrow. I have to get my legs back into walking mode for Europe. Hope you all had a good day.

I mentioned in my last post that we were going to open a bottle of red wine for dinner last night. We don’t usually drink red but we have a lot of it in our wine cabinet which has been gifted to us over the years. Colin enjoys red but I prefer to drink white. I have come to enjoy the odd glass of red if it is of higher quality.

This is what Colin pulled out and opened. What a great wine. We both loved it. We have no idea where it came or who had given it to us.

So this morning I researched it.

Quite a high alcohol content and it won a medal in 2015.

I just about fell off my chair when I saw the price. Yes that is USD. Had I known that we were drinking the most expensive wine we have ever had I would have enjoyed it even more. Fortunately there is a glass each left in the bottle for tonight.

Thank you to whoever gifted this to us. I wonder what other secrets we have in here. Love my stained glass window. That is our bathroom on the other side of the wine cabinet.

Unusual sunset yesterday. The setting sun was reflecting off the mountains to the South. You can see how windy it was. For most of the day the lake had whitecaps.

This was from the other side of our home facing west. We love where we live, both here and in Mexico. We are so very fortunate to be able to live as we do.

I sat at the table from 10:00AM until just now, 7:30PM.
I am about 98% finished. Quite confident that it will all be sent by courier on Monday to our accountant in Vancouver. I save at least $4000.00 by pre doing as much as I can including balancing the entire year. Colin meanwhile cleaned the entire house on his own and even brought a load over to the RV and picked up my spices. He also put away everything from the three loads of laundry I found time to do today and remade our bed on his own. Grazie mille mi amor. Now time for a quick soak in the tub and then dinner. We’ll be dining sometime between 8:30PM and 9:00PM. I do believe we will be opening a nice bottle of red. Dang I forgot to pull out the veggie ground round from the freezer 🙁 Microwave to the rescue.

So here we are in current time and making our dinner for tonite. My spices are in the RV 😳 I recall having the thought of having to empty the spice cabinet but somehow it never got done. Also my favorite two knives are still in the RV. If the RV were here in the park we would just go and pick up what we need but the storage yard is still being rebuilt after the flooding last May which resulted in ground water creating damage. So our RV is across the way for two more months. Fortunately we had enough to get dinner going.

Here in Holiday Park there are garden plots for rent and we put our name on the list as we now have more free time. This lovely grassy green plot is now ours for a mere $10.00 per year. What is even more amazing is that all the garden tools you could want to use, water and hoses and fresh top soil are provided.

It doesn’t look like much but we will see what we can do. Three different compost areas in the background. We had a choice of three plots and this one appears to have the most sunshine.

I don’t think that our garden will ever be this perfect.

We were wearing jackets as we walked over to the garden area and saw these young folks coming back from the indoor pool. I think that when one is young, one does not feel the cold 🙂

It is now Colin’s turn to spend hours on the phone with his aging computer. No need to go into the details but after several hours last evening, he was in worse shape than he started in. He spent all day today on it also. Just got a call and Apple upper tier will call us again tomorrow as we are in the middle of dinner prep. So complicated that they had to take a few hours to figure out the situation.

I was in town today getting my hair done and doing a few other errands including purchasing a few more pieces of clothing to complete my travel wardrobe. The snowy mountains seemed even larger while in town.

On golden pond.

Wednesday’s sunset taken from inside.

Last evenings sunset. We are clouded in again today and with showers in the forecast.
All I know it that I will be spending the next two days completing our year end. Meanwhile we have a great meal to look forward to tonight, fresh tuna steaks. Yikes, how did it get to be 8:10PM.
It appears that my font has diminished in size. Sorry but I just can’t deal with it now. Bear with me, gracias.

So yesterday afternoon started with an eye exam for me. Because I was doing it within ten months from my last one it was going to cost me $110.00 CAD. I have been having trouble reading with my prescription sunglasses. Things were fuzzy when I was trying to read the fine print on maps. I really needed to be able to see on our trip to Europe. Turns out that my astigmatism was getting better which accounted for the problem. The lenses were from 2015 and my daytime glasses were from 2017. So now they were syncing. Fortunately I was able to only order the left lens as the right eye was spot on which saved me $275.00.

Just before we headed out Colin was cleaning up all the goose poop on our lawn and patio.

I almost missed these girls as they were paddling so fast.

It wasn’t long before this guy was tempting Colin’s pick up. Caeli used to be our goose patrol.

I can’t believe that this guy is paddle boarding with bare feet in the freezing water! I guess if you have been cooped up here all winter this is paradise.
We were doing a number of errands ( 10 ) including a bank deposit, a visit to our lawyer re the annual year end filing and picking up some well deserved vino among other things.

This ball aka as a piece of art caught our eye. Apparently this represents the cycle of life. This ball is made of Ponderosa pine bark. It will slowly disintegrate over the next several months.

We also checked out the new channel built to handle the winter melt which was destroyed last year. It appears that they basically dug a deeper channel and widened it. This is a ten million dollar fix that is supposed to prevent us from being flooded yet again. So we hope.
We were very tired by the time we got back last evening which is why I did a short post. I did manage to make some progress on the year end yesterday. Lots more to do but I am confident it will all come together soon. Once again we has a great dinner and some good wine.
It is currently 9PM and I just have to stop. We are exhausted and tired and hungry but not wine deprived 😉 Just finished a two hour phone call with Apple re computer issues. We both had to reset and redo etc, and it it not finished…not an easy task. Better than we started but enough for tonight. Life is good, more manana.
