Plants and puppies

I had hoped to get more that a post done per day but I can only do so much. I already have photos for eight more posts. We will just all have to take it day by day. I have enjoyed your comments and took the time tonight to make some replies but you will have to check them out for yourself.

The plant man showed up ahead of schedule and I rushed to his truck. He smiled as he saw me and said that he had lots of hibiscus, I bought eight and other plants.  He knows me well. So we looked at our new plants for a few days and decided to make some changes. First we had Ismael ( we can do a lot of this work ourselves but this is wonderful way to put extra money in his pocket ) clean out some areas and mix the soil with new that we had brought with us. We also are planting in pots which hopefully will let the plants live longer. The palm tree roots strangle most of the plants. Note the girls trying to help out.

Someone found their first crab, disturbed by all the work in the garden.

They think that this is their new sandbox.

Nap time.

Starting to look good.

On the first beach walk we took them out on their regular six foot leashes. The girls were going wild and pulling and tugging so we switched to their long leashes and eventually let them go.

The girls as you can see thought that they were greyhounds. They never stopped running.  We had brought a few kibble to give them as they came back on our call or signal. It worked perfectly.

Most legs are in the air. Here we let them go with no leash and they did come back time and time again for that piece of kibble. It was a great day for all of us. They napped for hours.

Sunsets here are so special.

The colours just keep changing.

Wow, I don’t think I have ever seen Colin with white socks, usually he is all about color. :))) It is so great to see you all finally back on the Isla. The girls certainly so look like greyhounds, especially when
    leaning into a turn.

You have a beautiful spot there! The girls seem to really love the freedom of the beach. What is it about dogs and sandy beaches that just wants to make them run and run?

    • contessa says:

Yes they love the beach but what are we to do when we get back home? These two have gone wild. I have not walked for two days so looking forward to tomorrow.

I am beyond happy for you both! So nice that you have finally made it back to your Mexican retreat. The girls look so cute running and playing on the beach and your flowers/plants are certainly coming along nicely.

Your plants are coming along nicely and I bet it was fun to introduce the girls to the beach!

  5. You are all forgiven for not posting more as taking the dogs to the beach for a run is way more important! Hope to see your newly planted flowerbed and setup of your patio. Time to relax a bit.

I have started to relax as of today, we have a few more things to set up but we are so close to being done. So tell me, what am I going to do when we go home and have no beach for them to run on.

Happy pups! You can almost see the workings in their little doggie brains trying to absorb what is going on! It’s a whole new world for them!
