Candy Cane Lane

Snow was in the forecast for this past Friday and tonight .  So rather than wait until Friday to visit Candy Cane Lane we headed out early on Thursday evening. We did enjoy a few skiffs of snow during the day on Friday but nothing stuck to the roads.  However Thursday turned out to be a perfect evening to visit Candy Cane Lane. We arrived about 5PM before things got too busy. Colin parked the Jeep and we walked all over the place.  Families were there with their kids in strollers and others with their dogs. By 6PM is was busier, yet every time I stopped to take a photo with my iPhone, drivers simply stopped and waited for me to finish. I was bowled over by the courtesy. I wished that I had a pocketful of candy canes to hand out as a thank you.

So many lights!

This was yet another first for us.

I had an aha moment, of course, Candy Cane Lane.

Of course, candy canes everywhere.

This was special to me. They had two bottles of sanitizer and a bowl full of Christmas candy for those who wanted to have one.

At various points along the way, they had bins for those who wished to donate to the food bank.

The path between the candy canes led to a ferris wheel filled with penguins going around and around.

The car was possibly a Nissan sports car. Great job on the decor in this yard.

Hey that is Santa in the drivers seat!

What a fun outing. Loving all these firsts.

One of my mini displays. The hanging ornament is glass with gold decor.

Our glass  balls from Murano ( Venice ) Italy. So very festive.

Are you sending out Christmas cards this year?

Just lovely and what a lift for everyone spending Christmas without family. The only time we’ve ever seen anything like this was a tour through El CID here in Mazatlan. Lots of rich people with spectacular displays. Merry Christmas to you both.

Thank you Kathy. We never did a formal tour of El Cid but we were invited to visit former RVers who were renting one of the smaller homes in El Cid. So awe did a self tour. Those are some amazing Christmas decorations. They certainly go all out.

  3. We always loved looking at the lights. It inspires the imagination.
Still haven’t found those picture of our house.
    Cute Comics.
Be Safe and Enjoy the season.

    It’s about time.

Thanks for sharing pictures of Candy Cane Lane. I wasn’t sure if they would do it this year because of our new rules … they have to have someone controlling the entrance and exit to ensure social distancing and no more than 50 cars … I wasn’t sure if the neighbourhood would be able to handle that.

I had no idea that Candy Cane even existed before the other night. I also read the regulation for drive through events. We went early and on a week night in case we had to wait. Turns out that no one was in charge of anything. You could drive through or park and walk. We stopped and walked. Some wore masks, others did not. Dogs were all on leashes, not so much the kids. As we left it appeared that more vehicles were just driving around.
