Life goes on….
The boys left and I was sad. They left a hole in my heart and a few holes in the wine rack 😕
It wasn’t long before Colin and I were back at work. But first thing yesterday morning I had to check in at Weight Watchers. I gained .2 of a lb. Not bad for 4 days of eating and drinking mucho vino. I’m back on track. It will take till next week to get my desk work caught up. I managed to do what I had to do while our guests were here but spent most of my time in the kitchen so we all could spend time chatting and eating.

We cleared the patio so nothing would go flying thru the windows and lay the patio furniture flat and against the hedge.
Then the storm petered out, we did get about 60km/h winds but nothing near the 90m/h, thankfully. ‘Be Prepared’ was my girl guide motto.
Colin has 1.5 days of flying to do in Vancouver for clients. It takes a lot of coordination, getting specific maps of the numerous areas to be flown as things look very different from up there. Arranging a helicopter and a fixed wing plane takes time and then the City of Vancouver wanted three special insurance certificates before they issued a P.O. They aren’t the ones flying so why does Colin need special insurance to fly their sites? None of our other clients require anything whatsoever. Maybe they think we will sue them if he crashes? So he was finally ready to go and then Mother Nature brought in some clouds. He needs perfectly blue sky with not even a wisp of a cloud in the sky. So far we have set up and cancelled Wednesday and now today Friday. Monday is on the books pending weather. Of course he still has to get up at 2:30AM and drive to Vancouver to do the work. The life of a photographer is not always easy. Fortunately is is sunny here and he has jobs to work on.

It has always been hard to leave “The Boys” or to see them leave. They are very easy to like.
On the other hand I sympathize with the holes in your liquor supply! My kidneys needed a rest when they left!
Colin probably gets the same reaction I got when I worked in the Radio department at Telus. “Oh, you fly in helicopters! That must be so exciting”! Maybe the first few times but after doing it two or three days of every week for twenty some years it becomes much like riding the bus.
Hola Croft, actually I ate more that I should have. I’ve been up a few times with him and I love it. First time I was frightened as we took off over the harbour in Vancouver and the pilot asked if I could swim.
Dolores, they were missing all the extra hugs, pats and kisses they had become used to.
Ah, they just look so sad and dejected 🙂
I really enjoyed your visit with Chris and Juan – now I’m following their blog too. So little time, so many blogs to read! Hope your father is feeling better soon.
It is interesting to see what the boys are up to on this big trip. I agree so many blogs, so little time. Sometimes I just check certain ones every 3 -4 days. Thanks about my Dad.
