Feliz Ano Nuevo
After a busy few days we just spent the 31st relaxing and getting ready for the celebration. It had rained much of the night of the 30th and was rather damp and chilly for Mazatlan. We only got up to the mid 70's.

We walked around a bit and watched the preparations unfold. We chose not to go to a party or a restaurant requiring reservations. We wanted to enjoy the beauty and people of Mazatlan walking about the Plazuela Machado. We found a seat right in the middle of it all and had a variety of tasty dishes from guacamole, to tacos to a special shrimp plate with lots and lots of garlic!
Had we stayed till midnight we would have enjoyed the dancing and music but with the zoo at home we headed back to the Isla. We were treated to lots of music from a variety of fiestas all around us. The many fireworks were not appreciated by the dogs. Lise and I were in bed by midnight but Colin stayed up and brought in the New Year on the beach. He could see fireworks from the golden Zone to right here on the Isla.
