There were so many events happening in Mazatlan this day but this one was top notch. New look from the outdoor foyer.

The theatre appeared to be almost sold out.

First on the program was Vivaldi's Four Seasons. The concertmaster violin soloist ( sad to say I can't for certain recall his name ) was extraordinary as were the rest of the musicians. A real treat for music lovers and much deserving of his standing ovation.

Coming back from intermission....

After the Intermedio we were treated to Sinfonia no.45 by Haydn. In a nutshell this symphony was written by Haydn with a musical hint for the visiting Prince to leave the palace so the rest of the musicians could go home!! The music was written so that at the end, musician by musician blew out the candle lighting their music and left the room till no one was left. The Prince got the hint and left the next day. Meanwhile back in Mazatlan we were treated to a wee reenactment. If you look very very closely you will see a lit candle at the edge of each music stand. The theatre lights were dimmed, the music began and the room was filled with marvellous sounds. Towards the end of the final Adagio, one by one the muscians blew out their candles and left the stage.....

....till there were only two ( the conductor had also left ) to play the last few melodic notes. BRAVO!!!!

...than a lovely late lunch with friends before heading back to Isla de la Piedra!

Life is good, eh!

The clouds lifted last night to give us a sunset.

Our sunsets are more spectacular when the sun sets more to the left. Of course if we were in Mazatlan we would be able to watch the sun dip into the ocean.

Looks like we are back to normal this morning!

It's thirsty work enjoying the beach over at Pizza Benji's!

A few games were brought along. If you look across the water, over the head of the girl in the blue cap you will see a white building. Tres Amigos 1 is to the left of it and Tres Amigos 2 is to the right of it.

See the RV at the left of the photo ( that is a private lot ). We are to the right of that, if you look closely you can see our palapa to the right of a low white wall.

Great staff and great pizza....so good that half of a medium filled us up right till this morning.

The restaurant is in the background. There is room to dry camp here for smaller units.

Remember all the sunset shots, this place is located in front of the closest mountain, so we look across at it everyday. It is connected to us by a narrow causeway that is a good walk from here.

Towards the end of November we built a small flower garden and I planted three types of seeds.

It took a while but they started to grow. I faithfully watered them and eventually added a bit of fertalizer. The white rope you see to the right is a rope light running thru the bed.

...and now about 2 months later I have flowers from seeds. I just love watching them grow day by day.

Next year I will have to leave a space for the girls to sit in the garden without having to sit on my flowers!

The sweet peas have grown a bit but no flowers yet. They are not happy and are starting to die. I think that possibly the wind and the salt air are upsetting them.

Fisherman often set nets off the beach but this was a panga coming to shore.

By the time we did our morning walk, the boat and fishermen were gone. We could see bits of tiny fish in the sand plus the herons were still hanging around. It must have been a good haul.

We don't often see four herons hanging around together.

I wonder what we had possibly missed but we were late getting going yesterday morning.

Are those yellow fin tuna? Jessie happened to be passing the panga as it came in with a huge haul of fish. She asked if they were for sale, yes, 50 pesos! She had no money with her but they gave her the fish, actually they gave her two, 2 for the price of 1 in typical Mazatlan fashion.

She went back with her 50 pesos, about $3.85 Canadian. Then came the cleaning and cooking. Gary says this is just one of the fish on the BBQ!!

Caeli let me know that there were a large number of visitors in our front yard.

These photos were taken from inside the RV. Apparently 3 of the horses went right thru the property next door, from the beach to the road.

Pancakes with blueberries or bananas, several types of syrup, fresh OJ, lots of fruit, warm croissants & muffins....

Even 2 flavors of Baileys to add to your coffee. A great start to the perfect day.

Someone even left us a message on our car! Not quite sure what it means???

A lovely sunset after beach walks and time reading in the sun......just perfect. The sun is now setting to the right of the tallest peak on the mountain.

This was taken Dec. 5/11, notice how the sun is setting to the lower left of the mountain. We were here one month when this was taken. Now we are just completing our third month. Time and the sun are moving on........

Great sign!! Could beer and booze!

It was a pleasure to share my favorite gallery with friends. I never leave this place empty handed. In fact there are several lamps we want to get for our new home but that will have to wait till next winter. Meanwhile there are thousands of items to chose from.

She really had a thing about the wine glasses....

It was hard to leave Michael Gallery, but we had to get back home to feed the kids! It was a fun outing for all of us.

I love the lower sign of children depicted as angels, drive carefully. Alto means stop.

This speed sign is so high up a pole that it can barely be seen.

Topes means speed bump....slow down. I like this one.

The dangerous curve IS exactly as portrayed in the sign.
