We have been having a lot of fun along the way

Just a quick note to let you know that the only reason I am not posting everyday is because of a lack of time.  I have lots of photos and stories to share but time eludes me.

We only have a few hours left to complete our set up.  Then there are the usual RV chores such as cleaning fantastic fans, washing and waxing the RV and so on.  But those will happen as we can fit them in although I have to say that those fans really need to be dealt with soon.  Laundry is easy as we simply drop it off and pick it up a few days later.  Last week cost us 125 pesos, about $8.50CAD/$6.70USD and we had two weeks worth of things to be laundered.  So nice to have it all done for us.  Likely our cost will decrease to 100 pesos or so per week.

This past Saturday we had our neighbors, Audrey and Darwin as well as their neighbors, Kathleen and Ron over for happy hour.

We met Audrey and Darwin here last winter and realized that we had met in Lo de Marcos 15 years ago while staying at Tlaquepaque.  Today another couple came in who also knew us from way back then.

It turned out to be one of our 4 -5 hour happy hours.  As you can see we had not yet set up our outdoor lights.  We did what we had to do in order to have some light.  It was a great evening with old and new friends.

Sunday we worked on our lighting, went for a walk and had a good long swim.  Over a glass of wine we enjoyed a colorful sunset.

We have orioles hanging around. They have been hinting at us to get some oranges up for them.  Once we put the oranges out yesterday, they stopped coming.  Hopefully they will show up soon.  Meanwhile our hummingbirds are enjoying our hospitality and fighting for dominance of our yard space.

Beautiful showing of one of my hibiscus plants, almost the size of a dinner plate.

Two RVs came in Sunday and three more today.  RV1 only has one more space open for the winter.  RV2 is also filling up.  Now that the road is paved ( that last km was paved the other day ) folks are coming thru for just a few days.  However many realize that they have found paradise and have decided to stay for the season.

We were invited to a happy hour last night in a three story apartment building overlooking the shipping channel.  Their fourth floor is a large deck.  What a great view. They pay a mere $475.00CAD/month for a one bedroom apartment.  One of the best deals on the beach.

We were lucky enough to catch a cruise ship heading out.

Today I was more relaxed and we choose not to do a beach walk.  Instead we did some inside household chores and a bit of this and that. This sunset photo was taken from my friends site at the other end of the park this evening.

Tomorrow is going to be a busy day as I am hosting 26 for happy hour 😎  The next two nights we are out and about 😀   We did have a great home cooked dinner tonight which was a real treat.  Soon we will be back into a normal routine or so I hope.

Thanks for checking in.  I have yet to start a novel but it won’t be long now.

It looks like the winter routine is taking shape. Especially the happy hour bit! Enjoy!

  3. Happy hour looks fun – lol – love the ground lights. We have so many Christmas lights indoors and out that I can shut every other light off in the house and there is still enough light!

I still have all my Christmas decorations stored in our crawl space from when I decorated our 5600 sq ft home. I used to put up four trees. I love Christmas but in an RV it is scaled down.
