Nogales crossing update #2

Sent by Warren, today…. “Its a minor problem, nothing to get all worked up over – Just a heads up. At the border crossing at Nogales and up the hill about 2 Km away there are check points. No real problem as far as security – just a few questions like where are you going [...]

A quickie…

..kinda of busy right now!  Just found out the HHR has to go back to the shop, something showed up when Colin drove to Seattle and back Tuesday.  Seriously running out of funds.  But I did get my US cash today. This is a quote from Dorothy Bell for those heading towards Puerto Vallarta……I want [...]

Up to the very minute update on…

…what you can and can’t take into the USA food wise.  I called them directly and here is the scoop.  As mentioned a few posts ago, no goat or sheep meat, as well as no tomatoes, peppers or any citrus fruit.  Any fruit with a US sticker on it is okay and even eggs are [...]

Canadian Bank Runs Out OF MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s true.  I went to the bank yesterday to pick up my US cash and they had no US funds left!!!  Apparently the parity between the CAD and USD currencies last week wiped them out.  I wasn’t changing funds from Canadian to US but just taking good old US cash out of my US account. [...]

Pasta from a real Italian restaurant certainly beats Kraft dinner!!!!!!!! Where are the geese?  I realized today that [...]

Mexico Security Idea #3….

….bear spray!!  It can be purchased in Arizona in a sports store.  All these security ideas are things we have carried in the RV for years and have never had to use.  The bear spray came about mainly due to large Boxers, Pitt Bulls and Rottweilers roaming the beach in Acapulco.  Oh and one very [...]

Only 9 more sleeps….

…and we may need every hour.  Still getting ready for Mexico, spent another few hundred dollars on essentials….I guess we need the stuff!  We haven’t even left and are already having sewer issues.  Colin took the RV in the end of Sept. to have some modifications done in the ‘black’ area.  When he checked it [...]

The new road from Durango to Mazatlan…

…wow what a feat.  This will certainly be appreciated by Eastern RVers coming to Mexico’s West Coast. http://highestbridges.com/wiki/index.php?title=Baluarte_Bridge A wee thought….I’m sure we are all cheering the imminent rescue of the Chilean miners but yet many in Mexico remain trapped in despair!!  Salvador Camarena interviews the victims of crime or the relatives left after a [...]

Mexico security idea #2…

…in addition to my suggestion of bringing along a motion security light….how about an air horn?  Yup, just a regular sports type of air horn.  I can see it coming in as a useful security alert device to other Rvers in your park in case of  a night emergency.  You might want to devise a [...]
